The new Jason Voorhees trailer is for Sweet Revenge, a short-form vignette presented by Jason Universe—not for the separate Crystal Lake prequel series. The short was released on August 13, 2025, about sixteen years after Jason’s screen appearance in the 2009 Friday the 13th reboot, so the headline’s “13 years later” does not match those dates.
What is the new Jason Voorhees trailer for?
It previews Sweet Revenge, a Jason Universe vignette featuring the hockey-masked killer. Fangoria reported that the short was released August 13, 2025, and identified Angry Orchard as its sponsor. The trailer is a first look at the short, rather than a trailer for a new feature-length Friday the 13th film.
Collider coverage, mirrored through IMDb, describes the short as a 13-minute experience. That is a reported duration, not a runtime confirmed here by an official distributor.
Who made and stars in Sweet Revenge?
Mike P. Nelson wrote and directed the vignette. Its cast includes Ally Ioannides, Natassia Wakey, Toussaint Morrison, Tim James White and Chris Carlson, with Schuyler White playing Jason Voorhees. Fangoria’s report provides the credits and sponsorship details: Fangoria.

Why does “13 years later” not fit the dates?
The available coverage places Jason’s previous screen appearance in the 2009 Friday the 13th reboot, while Fangoria dates Sweet Revenge to August 13, 2025. That is roughly sixteen years, not thirteen. The headline’s phrasing should therefore be read as a headline, not an accurate count of the interval.
Is this the same project as Crystal Lake?
No. Sweet Revenge is a short featuring Jason; Crystal Lake is a separate eight-episode prequel series centered on Pam Voorhees. NBCUniversal announced that the series follows Pam after the drowning of her young son, Jason, and is produced by A24 with creator Brad Caleb Kane. NBCUniversal announced an October 15, 2026 premiere exclusively on Peacock in the United States; the Peacock guide also describes Pam as the center of the prequel.

For the UK and Ireland, Sky announced that Crystal Lake would be available exclusively on Sky and NOW. Those are territory-specific plans for the series, not evidence that either service carries Sweet Revenge. Availability can differ elsewhere and should be checked for the reader’s location.
