Jujutsu Kaisen, volume 30, topped the reported 2025 ranking of manga sales in Japanese bookstores. The Nippan-attributed chart, reported by BuzzFeed Japan, covers sales from November 20, 2024, through November 18, 2025; it is a sales ranking, not a poll of the year’s best manga.
Japan’s reported top 10 manga sellers of 2025

Shueisha published all five titles in the top five and seven of the ten ranked entries. The report does not provide unit sales or market-share figures, so the order—not a sales-total comparison—is what can be stated from this chart.
What the ranking measures
According to BuzzFeed Japan’s account of Nippan data, the ranking uses point-of-sale (POS) sales from about 2,500 bookstores across the period November 20, 2024, to November 18, 2025. The approximate store count describes the chart’s reported bookstore coverage; it is not a number of copies sold.
#1 Best Overall
When more than one volume from a series qualified, only its highest-ranked volume appears. For example, the list shows Jujutsu Kaisen volume 30 at number one; it does not show the combined sales of the entire series or establish that this was the only volume that sold well.
How this differs from other 2025 manga rankings
Rank numbers are meaningful only alongside a chart’s method and coverage. Nippan’s “Recommended Comics Chosen by Bookstore Staff 2025” is based on staff recommendations gathered by questionnaire, rather than the bookstore-sales measure described for this list. Digital charts also have different scopes: MANGA Plus reflects activity on Shueisha’s platform, while BOOK☆WALKER ranks titles in its own digital store. Those lists answer different questions and should not be treated as directly interchangeable sales standings.
Rank #2
What the number one result does—and does not—mean
The result identifies Jujutsu Kaisen volume 30 as the leading entry in this reported bookstore-sales ranking. It does not name the “best” manga by critical judgment or reader vote, and it is not a live ranking of current sales. A reader looking for the ranked edition should search for volume 30; the ranking does not recommend it as a starting point for someone new to the series.
The ranking details here are attributed to Nippan through BuzzFeed Japan’s report. The Nippan page linked from that report could not be independently accessed, so the period and methodology are presented as the report describes them rather than as independently verified primary-source details.
