They first met through their families
Jana and Stephen first met in 2011, when the Wissmann family visited the Duggars. Jana recalled spending snowbound evenings playing games and working on puzzles together until the Wissmanns could travel home, according to TV Insider / Swooon.

They reconnected and married in 2024
The pair reconnected in early 2024 and became engaged in June. They married in Arkansas on August 15, 2024, according to Us Weekly. Jana said she had moved more slowly toward the relationship, but Stephen’s character and continued care helped her trust that he genuinely cared about her.
“I had been a slower mover on it, but just over time, his character, his coming back, still loving me no matter what. I know we have a big crazy family and still kind of putting up with a lot of things. I’m like, my goodness, there are not too many people that do that. He must really, genuinely care about me.”
