The meeting brought back a memorable moment from years earlier: Captain Feathersword performed Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” at a Wiggles show in the United States, and Hetfield stood up and headbanged in approval.
What happened when James Hetfield met Anthony Wiggle in Perth?
The Wiggles shared a photo of Hetfield and Field together in Perth. In a caption reproduced by PerthNow, the group wrote: “Anthony and James Hetfield from Metallica catching up in Perth tonight.” The post said the pair laughed as they recalled Captain Feathersword singing “Enter Sandman” at a Wiggles show years earlier.
The available account describes a photo and a catch-up; it does not identify where in Perth they met or how long they spent together. It also does not report a formal interview.
Why did James Hetfield stand up at a Wiggles show?
The story behind the reunion happened at an earlier Wiggles show in the United States. Captain Feathersword performed Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” and Hetfield, who was in the audience, stood up and headbanged in approval, according to The Wiggles’ caption.

When did the Perth catch-up take place?
The meeting was reported on 2 November 2025, after Metallica played Optus Stadium on Saturday, 1 November. No collaboration is announced in the cited report. Fans called for the groups to work together after The Wiggles shared the photo, but those comments are fan hopes, not confirmation from either act. The remembered “Enter Sandman” performance took place at an earlier Wiggles show; it was not a new performance in Perth.
