On July 29, 2024, PerthNow reported that Perth-based creator and business owner Jacquie Alexander was celebrating her boyfriend Nathan Ephraums making his Olympic debut for Australia at the Paris Games. Ephraums, an alternate on the men’s hockey team, was brought in for Australia’s 1–0 match against Argentina, according to the report.
What Jacquie Alexander said about Ephraums’ debut
Alexander shared her excitement in a get-ready-with-me-style TikTok posted on the Sunday before PerthNow’s July 29 report. “Can’t believe my boyfriend is playing in the Olympics,” she said. She added: “I am so excited for Nathan. Honestly, he is so deserving.” PerthNow reported the video and her remarks.
How Ephraums entered Australia’s Olympic team
PerthNow said Ephraums was an alternate on Australia’s men’s hockey team and replaced Jake Whetton for the Saturday game against Argentina. Australia won 1–0. The account describes his debut as a specific match appearance after entering the team, rather than suggesting he had been a regular starter throughout the tournament.
Alexander’s fashion and business background
PerthNow described Alexander as a Perth-based content creator and business owner whose content focused on fashion and lifestyle. At the time of the July 2024 article, it reported that she had 411.9k TikTok followers and 303k Instagram followers; those are historical audience figures, not current counts. Alexander and Ephraums co-owned the fashion label In My Moods, according to the report.

The “boyfriend” wording reflects the couple’s status when Alexander’s announcement was reported in July 2024. On August 15, 2024, PerthNow reported that Alexander and Ephraums had become engaged after the Games. That follow-up also identified reusable coffee-cup label Daily Iced among businesses Alexander co-founded. PerthNow’s engagement report is later than the Olympic-debut story.
