Jack Black stars in a music-video tribute recreating Ozzy Osbourne’s performance of “Mr. Crowley”—not in Ozzy’s original video, and not as a live performance by Black at the Back to the Beginning concert. Ozzy’s official channel published the recreation on July 6, 2025, for the event held the day before.
What the “Mr. Crowley” video shows
The official Ozzy Osbourne channel describes the clip this way: “Jack Black goes Back to the Beginning recreating Ozzy’s iconic performance of ‘Mr. Crowley’ for the final show.” That wording identifies it as a recreation of Ozzy’s performance, rather than archival footage or a new performance by Ozzy. Watch the official video on Ozzy Osbourne’s channel.
Hometeam’s project page describes the project as a music-video tribute starring Black and calls it a “Nostalgic Homage to ‘Mr. Crowley’.” The video’s production-page framing supports calling it a tribute video, rather than treating it as a concert recording. See Hometeam’s project page.

How it relates to Back to the Beginning
Back to the Beginning took place on July 5, 2025, according to the official video description; the tribute was published July 6. It does not state a fundraising total or say that the tribute video itself raised a separate amount.
Where “Mr. Crowley” fits in Ozzy’s catalog
Ozzy Osbourne’s official catalog lists “Mr. Crowley” on Blizzard of Ozz (Expanded Edition), with a catalog date of September 20, 1980. Because that listing specifically names the expanded edition, its date should not be taken as independent verification of the original album’s release date. The catalog also includes other editions and live releases. Browse Ozzy Osbourne’s official catalog.
