Isis Valverde and André Resende announced on February 23, 2022, that they were no longer a couple. They had married in June 2018 and have a son, Rael. Valverde said they would remain part of each other’s lives and that their son would remain their priority.

Their separation was announced on February 23, 2022. Valverde’s press office confirmed that they no longer formed a couple, and Valverde shared a statement of her own. Gshow reported the announcement and reproduced both statements; GCMAIS also covered the confirmation that day.

What did Valverde say about the split?
Valverde described the end of the relationship as a change rather than a denial of what they had shared: “Quando um amor se transforma e uma relação acaba, não significa que aquele relacionamento não deu certo. O amor continua, mas de outro jeito, assim como o respeito.” She also said: “Continuaremos sempre a fazer parte um da vida do outro, especialmente porque temos um amor maior em comum: Rael. Ele sempre será nossa prioridade.”
Her press office likewise referred to friendship and respect, and asked the press to respect the boundary between public and private life, particularly because a child was involved. The statements did not disclose private details about the separation.

How long were they together, and do they have a child?
Contemporary reporting said Valverde and Resende’s relationship began in 2016. They married in June 2018 in Guaratiba, Rio de Janeiro, and their son, Rael, was born in November 2018. O Globo’s Patrícia Kogut column reported the relationship and marriage timeline.
Why did Isis Valverde and André Resende split?
Their public statements did not give a reason. GCMAIS reported, citing unnamed friends, that Valverde’s international career plans and a possible move to Los Angeles were points of disagreement. That account was not confirmed by Valverde, Resende, or the press-office statement, so it should be treated as unverified speculation rather than an established cause.

Were they legally divorced?
The sources documenting the 2022 announcement establish that the couple separated, but do not establish a court filing or final divorce decree. A July 6, 2026, report by R7 described Resende as Valverde’s former husband and said Valverde married Marcus Buaiz in 2024. That later description does not, by itself, document the legal disposition of her marriage to Resende.
