Best subscription option: watch Wuthering Heights on HBO Max. Warner Bros. Discovery announced that the film would make its global streaming debut exclusively on HBO Max on Friday, May 1, 2026. JustWatch’s U.S. listing also identifies HBO Max and HBO Max Amazon Channel as subscription options.
HBO Max availability does not mean the film is included with an Amazon Prime membership. Amazon separately lists the movie as a rental or purchase through Prime Video, and says customers do not need a Prime membership to rent or buy it.

Amazon’s official U.S. entertainment listing gives the following prices for renting Wuthering Heights on Prime Video:
- Rent: $19.99
- Buy: $24.99
- Rental window: 30 days to start watching, then 48 hours to finish after playback begins
Those are the verified U.S. figures from Amazon’s listing, not universal prices. JustWatch’s August 11 U.S. snapshot showed different prices in some storefront entries—including rentals at $6.99 and purchase prices ranging from $7.99 to $19.99. That difference may reflect promotional pricing, separate editions, or listing updates. Check the live retailer page immediately before paying.

A digital purchase or rental is separate from HBO Max streaming. Buying the movie on a digital storefront does not automatically provide HBO Max access, and an HBO Max subscription does not necessarily include a permanent digital copy.

What is the complete release timeline?
- February 11, 2026: International theatrical releases began in some markets.
- February 13, 2026: Nationwide U.S. theatrical release.
- March 31, 2026: Digital rental and purchase release.
- May 1, 2026: Exclusive HBO Max subscription-streaming debut.
- May 2, 2026: HBO linear television premiere at 8:00 p.m. ET.
- May 5, 2026: U.S. release on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
International dates can differ by market. Promotional materials and listings may show February 11 or February 12 for theatrical release outside the U.S.; February 13 is the U.S. wide-release date used here.
Is it available on 4K, Blu-ray, or DVD?
Yes. The physical release includes 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions, released in the U.S. on May 5, 2026. The official movie site promotes the film as available digitally and on 4K Ultra HD, while U.S. listings also include Blu-ray and DVD.
Physical media is the clearest choice for viewers who want a copy that is not dependent on a subscription catalog. It may also offer higher-quality audio and video than a compressed stream, depending on the disc, player, display, and sound system. A 4K disc is an ownership format—not another streaming service—so it should not be confused with HBO Max availability.

Is there a free way to stream it?
Not according to JustWatch’s U.S. availability check on August 11, 2026. That snapshot reported no free streaming option. A free option could appear later through an ad-supported service, promotional event, library program, or television broadcast, but none was listed in the cited check.

Which version of Wuthering Heights is this?
This guide concerns the 2026 film written and directed by Emerald Fennell, not one of the earlier film or television adaptations of Emily Brontë’s novel.

Warner Bros. Pictures and MRC presented the film, with LuckyChap Entertainment and Lie Still involved in production. Identifying the year and the Fennell-Robbie-Elordi cast is important when searching a platform, since older adaptations may appear under the same title.
Should you read the novel first?
You do not need to read Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel before watching the film, but the source text provides useful context for comparing Fennell’s adaptation with the original story.

The film’s soundtrack includes original songs co-written and performed by Charli XCX. Film Music Reporter reported that Atlantic Records released the soundtrack digitally and in physical formats on February 13, 2026, including CD, vinyl, and audio cassette editions. Amazon was listed as a pre-order destination at the time of that report.
Availability of particular soundtrack formats can change more quickly than the film’s viewing options. Check the retailer’s current listing for stock, edition, and price before ordering.
Does HBO Max availability apply everywhere?
No broad worldwide availability claim should be made from the U.S. listing. Warner Bros. announced the HBO Max global streaming debut, but licensing catalogs, service names, launch dates, and digital retailers can vary by country. The subscription and price information in this article is specifically for the United States, with the streaming snapshot verified August 11, 2026.

Bottom line
Wuthering Heights is no longer merely “coming to streaming.” In the U.S., the 2026 Emerald Fennell adaptation has been on HBO Max since May 1, 2026. It is also available through paid digital rental and purchase services, and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. For a subscription viewer, HBO Max is the primary option; for a one-time viewing without a subscription, compare the live prices on the authorized digital storefronts.
