Yes. Poliwrath is a Water- and Fighting-type Pokémon. Its official Pokédex entry is #0062 and lists both types. Other species also carry this combination, but the official Pokédex is the place to confirm each one before you rely on it.
Poliwrath: the direct example
The Pokémon Company International’s official Pokédex entry for Poliwrath (#0062) lists Water and Fighting as its two types. That single entry answers the question, and it is the example to cite if you need a source.
Poliwrath’s weaknesses
A dual type inherits the weaknesses of both parts. Water is weak to Grass and Electric; Fighting is weak to Flying, Psychic and Fairy. Combined, Poliwrath’s official listed weaknesses are:
- Grass
- Electric
- Flying
- Psychic
- Fairy
Abilities and evolution line
The official entry lists two abilities, Damp and Water Absorb. The Pokédex describes Water Absorb as restoring HP instead of taking damage when the Pokémon is hit by a Water-type move. Poliwrath evolves from Poliwhirl, which evolves from Poliwag. The official entry also shows Politoed as the alternate evolution of Poliwhirl.

Other Water/Fighting Pokémon
The official Pokédex search, which filters by type, weakness and ability, surfaces Keldeo and Quaquaval among results tied to the Water and Fighting filters. Those names are candidates, not a confirmed roster: check each one’s current Pokédex record, which shows its type line directly, before listing it. To build a complete list yourself, run the Pokédex search with both Water and Fighting selected and read the type line on every result.

Pokémon GO raid advice
The Pokémon Company International’s “Mega Tyranitar Pokémon GO Raid Battle Tips” article, dated 2023, recommends Poliwrath and Shadow Poliwrath as Water/Fighting counters and says that a Pokémon using an attack that matches one of its types receives an additional 20% damage. That figure applies to Pokémon GO raid battles. Do not assume the same number applies in the mainline video games or the trading card game.
Pokémon Trading Card Game energy
The Pokémon Trading Card Game uses its own Energy categories to power card attacks. Water and Fighting appear there as Energy types, but this is a separate system from species typing: a card’s Energy requirements do not mirror a Pokémon’s video-game types. The official TCG Card Database lets you search cards by Water and Fighting, and the official Pokémon Trading Card Game rules explain how Energy works. If you are looking for Poliwrath cards, search the card database for “Poliwrath” and check the card text rather than assuming a type match.

- Legendary Double Rare Cards
A practical way to avoid mixing these up:
- Species typing (Pokédex, video games): determines weaknesses and move effectiveness.
- Raid damage bonus (Pokémon GO): the 20% figure applies to matching-type attacks in that game.
- Card Energy (TCG): determines which Energy a card needs, and is a different system.
