Yes, a Skibidi Toilet screen project involving Michael Bay was reported in 2024, and a 2025 industry report said production was underway on Bay’s “exploration” of the property. But those reports do not establish that a feature film is in full production, or give it a release date, distributor, confirmed cast or final format.
What has been reported about the Skibidi Toilet movie?
On July 24, 2024, The Washington Post reported that Skibidi Toilet creator Alexey Gerasimov, known online as Boom or DaFuq!?Boom, was working with Invisible Narratives to expand the series into product lines and a potential film and television franchise. The paper described Michael Bay as the project’s chief creative adviser at the time. Its report also said Bay and Gerasimov had spent time discussing their process and collaboration.
That makes the original claim real as a reported development effort—not proof that a finished film had been greenlit for a particular release plan. Bay told The Washington Post: “I’ve always been a director that believes in taking risks.”
What does “production underway” mean in the 2025 update?
On May 20, 2025, Animation World Network reported that Invisible Narratives said production was underway on Bay’s “exploration” of Skibidi Toilet. The publication said the studio was producing, developing and financing the project, and reported that the studio announcement named production designer Jeffrey Beecroft and visual-effects supervisor Rob Legato as collaborators.

The wording matters: the report’s headline says “Production Begins,” while its account of the studio’s description calls the work an “exploration.” That indicates activity on the property, but does not specify whether the work is a feature film, a television project or another form of screen development. The Independent also reported in May 2025 that a studio press release said Bay was collaborating with members of his creative team to bring the film to life; that coverage does not supply a release schedule.
When will the Skibidi Toilet movie come out?
No release date is established in the cited reports. They also do not identify a distributor or confirmed cast, and they do not settle the project’s final screen format. A development report, or a statement that an “exploration” is underway, is not the same as an announced theatrical or streaming release.

What is Skibidi Toilet about?
Skibidi Toilet is a short-form web series created by Gerasimov. In the premise described by The Washington Post and CNA, human heads emerge from toilets and battle humanoid opponents with cameras, speakers or televisions for heads. The conflict unfolds in an expanding industrial world. That describes the online series; the reports do not establish the plot of a Bay-led adaptation.
The series’ online reach helps explain the interest in a screen adaptation, but published figures use different scopes and dates. The Washington Post reported in July 2024 that the series had received more than 65 billion YouTube views “last year alone”—a figure referring to the preceding year, not a current cumulative total. In May 2025, Animation World Network attributed a separate figure to Invisible Narratives: more than 110 million subscribers and over 35 billion views across the flagship channel and Creator Alliance network. Those figures cover different periods or channel groupings, so they should not be treated as directly comparable measurements.

Is the creator still involved?
A Cartoon Brew report published in October 2026 quoted Invisible Narratives as saying Gerasimov was not currently participating in the development or production of new YouTube episodes. The report said his agreement remained in effect, but its terms were private. It did not establish his role in the film project, so his absence from work on new episodes should not be read as confirmation that he has left the screen effort.

The franchise has also had reported consumer-product plans. The Washington Post reported a deal with Bonkers Toys for themed toys and licensing for plush, apparel, bedding and other products; Animation World Network later described consumer products and global licensing. That supports searching for Skibidi Toilet toys as a franchise category, but it does not verify any particular current retailer listing or product’s licensing status. The reports do not establish that these items are merchandise for the film.
