No reliable report in the available coverage confirms that the reported real-life Annabelle doll is missing. The May 2025 rumor was denied by representatives, who said the doll had been traveling, including a stop in New Orleans. Its exact location and whether visitors can see it now are not confirmed by the latest cited reporting.
Was the Annabelle doll really missing?
No. In May 2025, social-media posts and visitor reports suggested the doll had disappeared because it was not seen during tour activity. Contemporary coverage described the claim as false: the doll had been on tour, including a New Orleans stop, and representatives of the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR) said it was not missing. The Independent reported the rumor and denial on May 25, 2025.
That denial addressed the rumor at the time; it does not establish that the doll is always in one place or continuously on display.
What does the reported real-life Annabelle look like?
The object identified by the Warrens as Annabelle is described as a Raggedy Ann doll. It is not the porcelain-faced figure familiar from the Annabelle films, whose appearance is a fictionalized design. WSHU’s August 6, 2025 report distinguishes the reported doll from the film version.

Who owns the Warren home, and who owns the artifacts?
Those are separate questions. In August 2025, comedian Matt Rife and YouTuber Elton Castee acquired the Warren property and described themselves as caretakers of the collection. WSHU reported that Tony and Judy Spera retained ownership of the artifacts and leased them to the new property owners. The property acquisition therefore should not be described as a transfer of artifact ownership.

Did Annabelle move to Salem?
Not on the evidence in the cited report. In March 2026, CT Insider reported that the new operators were considering moving artifacts to Salem. That was a plan under consideration, not confirmation that a move had happened—and it does not establish that Annabelle was included. CT Insider’s March 19, 2026 report also described Monroe overnight stays in which Annabelle and other named objects might not be present.

The cited reporting does not establish Annabelle’s exact location or public-access status on October 8, 2026. It would be inaccurate to state that she is currently in Monroe, has moved to Salem, or is on display. The March 2026 account describes a possible relocation and access conditions at that time, not the doll’s present whereabouts or a current visitor policy.
