Yes, a Siren Head feature film has been reported as a project in development—but there is no confirmed release date, and the sources available do not establish that it has been released. Siren Head itself is fictional: Canadian artist Trevor Henderson created the internet-born horror character and first shared it in 2018. A film being developed is not the same as a movie you can watch now.
What is Siren Head?
Siren Head is a fictional horror character created by Canadian artist Trevor Henderson. Its unsettling image—a towering figure with sirens in place of a head—spread through edited images, short videos, fan games and online storytelling. It is not evidence of a real cryptid.
Henderson told PBS that Siren Head was probably his most popular character and that he was interested in the concept of number stations while developing it. PBS’s Monstrum traced how the character moved from an original drawing into internet folklore. Watch PBS’s account of Siren Head’s online origins.
What is the status of the Siren Head movie?
Trade publications reported in 2026 that Warner Bros. Pictures acquired the underlying rights for a feature adaptation. The Hollywood Reporter and TheWrap reported Zach Cregger and Brian Duffield as writers, with Duffield attached to direct. A July 15, 2026 interview with Henderson also referred to the adaptation as upcoming. These reports establish a development project, not a completed or released film.

How did Siren Head become an internet phenomenon?
From an original character to online folklore
Henderson began sharing Siren Head in 2018. The character’s spread accelerated as people placed it into images and videos and built their own stories around it. PBS describes this process as internet-born folklore: the original creation remains identifiable, but many versions and interpretations circulate alongside it.
That distinction matters because there is no single, settled body of lore behind every version. A 2026 interview with Henderson notes that accounts of the character’s powers, age, height and motives vary. Henderson has described the lack of a clear origin as part of the appeal. Fan interpretations are not automatically canon or evidence of what a film will depict.
A viral moment, dated to 2022
PBS’s August 9, 2022 Monstrum episode reported that digital artist Alex Howard’s April 30 video featuring Siren Head received 23 million views and 3.3 million likes in a week. Those figures are a historical snapshot cited by PBS, not a current total for the character or its videos.

In a July 2026 interview with Reactor, Henderson said he hopes the adaptation retains the character’s ambiguity: “I hope that a lot of that is retained.” That is his personal hope, not a confirmed creative direction or plot detail. He has also said he would not want a definitive origin explanation; the available reporting does not establish whether the film will follow that preference.
Are Siren Head games or merchandise official?
Trade coverage mentions fan-made games and merchandise, but that does not establish that a particular product is licensed or officially approved. The reporting reviewed does not verify a current official toy, merchandise listing or licensing arrangement. Check the seller and product details rather than assuming that something featuring Siren Head is official.
