It began streaming on Prime Video on December 12, 2024, so it is not a new 2026 release. Here is where to find it, what it costs, and why the buttons on the movie page may look different from one account to another.

Where is Red One streaming?
In the United States, Red One is included with an eligible Amazon Prime membership and can be watched through Prime Video. The standard Prime Video service is the ad-supported option, so viewers should expect limited advertisements during playback.
It is not currently listed as a free, standalone ad-supported movie outside a Prime subscription. In other words, a free Prime Video account by itself does not necessarily provide access to the film.

How to watch Red One on Prime Video
- Open the Prime Video app or visit PrimeVideo.com.
- Select Search.
- Enter Red One.
- Choose the 2024 film starring Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans—not another title with a similar name.
- Select Watch Now or the equivalent play option available to your account.
The current U.S. Prime Video listing identifies the movie as PG-13 and gives the standard version a runtime of 1 hour 53 minutes.
How much does it cost?
For viewers who do not already have Prime, the U.S. membership price is $14.99 per month or $139 per year. Prime Video is included with that membership.

Yes, depending on the storefront and your location. In the U.S., Red One is also listed for digital rental and purchase through Apple TV Store, Amazon Video, and Fandango At Home.

This can be the cheaper choice if you only want to watch the film once and do not need Prime’s shipping or wider streaming catalogue. A digital rental is generally temporary, while a purchase is tied to the store account and service through which it was bought. The exact rental period, playback window, video quality, and price are shown by the individual retailer.
Why does Prime Video show “Join Prime,” “Rent,” or “Buy”?
Prime Video does not always show the same buttons to every visitor. A signed-out user may see Join Prime, Rent UHD, or Buy UHD, while a signed-in Prime member may see the included streaming option.
Different buttons can also result from:
- being signed into an account without an active Prime membership;
- opening a regional version of the Prime Video page;
- country-specific licensing rules;
- promotional pricing or a changing digital-release window; or
- using a storefront that treats Prime Video streaming and Amazon Video rentals as separate options.
If the film appears to require payment even though you have Prime, confirm that you are using the correct Amazon account, check the country or region setting, and search for the 2024 listing directly inside the Prime Video app.
Is an ad-free version available?
Amazon’s current U.S. ad-free tier is called Prime Video Ultra. It costs $4.99 per month, or $45.99 annually where the annual option is offered. Ultra removes the normal Prime Video advertisements and also adds features including 4K/UHD playback, Dolby Atmos, up to five concurrent streams, and up to 100 downloads.

A standard Prime membership includes HD and HDR formats, but Amazon says 4K/UHD is exclusive to Prime Video Ultra in the U.S. Your television, streaming device, internet connection, and the version of the title available to your account still determine the quality you actually receive.
How long is Red One?
The current Prime Video page lists the standard version at 1 hour 53 minutes. An older About Amazon article gives a different runtime of 2 hours 2 minutes, which accounts for some conflicting listings online.
Prime Video separately lists ASL and BSL versions at 2 hours 4 minutes, with 11 minutes of additional content. If you are planning a movie night, use the runtime attached to the specific version selected on your device rather than relying on an older search result.
What is the movie about?
Red One combines a Christmas adventure with an action-comedy setup. Johnson plays Callum Drift, a North Pole security chief who must locate Santa after a kidnapping. Evans plays Jack O’Malley, a bounty hunter pulled into the rescue operation.
