Spoilers for Avatar: Fire and Ash. Quaritch’s fate is unconfirmed. He deliberately falls toward the fire during the final confrontation, but the film does not show where he lands or confirm that he dies.
What happens to Quaritch at the end of Fire and Ash?
Jake and Quaritch are fighting in an anti-gravity well when Spider is put in danger. The two men stop fighting to save him. Jake then offers Quaritch a hand, trying to bring him over to his side. When Neytiri and the rest of the Sully family arrive, Quaritch is unsettled by the moment and chooses to fall rather than accept Jake’s gesture. The last the audience sees of him is his fall toward the fire. GamesRadar’s ending breakdown describes his fate as unclear.

The distinction is important: the film shows Quaritch falling, not dying. It does not reveal his landing or what happens afterward.
Did Stephen Lang confirm that Quaritch is dead?
No. In a CinemaBlend interview, Lang called the moment a “Fuck it” moment and said: “As far as we know he’s plummeting and that’s the end for him. But, he did die after the first movie, and he almost died in the second movie. So who knows what’s in store.”

Lang’s comment describes the apparent end of the scene, but it does not confirm Quaritch’s death. He explicitly leaves open what may happen next, noting that the character has returned after apparent death before. That is Lang’s interpretation, not an official confirmation of either death or survival.
Does Quaritch return in Avatar 4?
His unresolved ending leaves a possible story thread, but the film and Lang’s comments do not establish that Quaritch will return in Avatar 4. A potential continuation is not confirmation that one is planned.

Where does Fire and Ash fit in the story?
D23’s official character guide says Fire and Ash begins a few weeks after The Way of Water. The Sully family is dealing with Neteyam’s death as the Mangkwan, also known as the Ash People, attack and the RDA regroups for another assault. Quaritch remains part of that conflict, making his unresolved fate a potential thread in the larger story—but not proof of his survival.
