NME also quoted an Instagram post in which Rapaport wrote: “Born. Raised. NYC. Nothing’s free. No bullshit. No fake grins. I’ll own my mistakes, apologize when I screw up, and fight to make this city safe, affordable, and thriving.” That is campaign-style self-description, not a detailed policy platform.
Why did he bring up Zohran Mamdani?
The January coverage connected Rapaport’s stated interest in running to his opposition to Mayor Zohran Mamdani and criticism of Mamdani’s leadership and views, including on Israel. Rapaport has used terms such as “evil” about Mamdani; those are Rapaport’s political judgments, not established facts.
