Live PD has not returned under its original name. REELZ launched On Patrol: Live in 2022 as a new series from the producers of Live PD. The programs share a production connection and, at launch, several familiar on-air figures, but REELZ described the show as a new series—not an official revival of Live PD.
What is On Patrol: Live?
On Patrol: Live is a REELZ series that follows police officers and sheriff’s deputies on patrol. In its June 8, 2022 announcement, REELZ called it a “new series” from the producers of Live PD. The network described its approach as documenting officers’ everyday work live across departments in the United States. That is REELZ’s launch description of the program.
The announcement named Dan Abrams, Sgt. Sean “Sticks” Larkin, and Deputy Sheriff Curtis Wilson as hosts and identified Half Moon Pictures, Big Fish Entertainment’s crime and investigation label, as the production company. Those are launch details, not a guarantee that the lineup or production arrangements remain unchanged. REELZ’s announcement
How is it connected to Live PD?
The connection established by REELZ is that On Patrol: Live came from the producers of Live PD. The new program has its own title and is associated with REELZ. The announcement does not say that the original Live PD returned under a new name, nor does it establish that the two shows have identical ownership or are the same series.
