Saber Interactive and Lionsgate revealed a new, original chapter in John Wick’s life during Sony’s February 12, 2026 State of Play. PlayStation’s State of Play recap describes it as a previously unseen story in which players take on the role of the Baba Yaga. The project is still untitled in the official announcements.

When does the John Wick game come out?
No release date has been announced. Saber’s official John Wick game page lists the release as TBA and offers a wishlist option and signup for release updates. The project also has no confirmed official title in the announcement materials.

A story set before the Impossible Task
The original narrative takes place years before the Impossible Task, the event central to John Wick’s backstory. Saber says it is developing the game in collaboration with franchise director Chad Stahelski and Lionsgate, with both familiar and new characters planned.

Announced action plans, not a hands-on preview
The studios say they plan to include gun-fu combat, cinematic camerawork, driving sequences, cinematic storytelling, and immersive environments. These are announced intentions; the February 2026 reveal does not establish how they play or how extensively each feature appears.
Jenefer Brown, President of Global Products & Experiences at Lionsgate, described the goal this way: “We are collaborating closely with Saber’s dedicated team to develop a game that captures the unparalleled action, brand-defining fight choreography, immersive world-building, and authenticity of the films.” That is a statement of the collaboration’s aims, not a report of tested features.
