Yes. GoldenEye 007 is available on Nintendo Switch through the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics collection, which requires a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. Nintendo announced its arrival on January 26, 2023. The Nintendo 64 controller for Switch is optional.
How to play GoldenEye 007 on Switch
- Make sure your Nintendo account and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership are available in your country. Nintendo says the service is not available everywhere; check the local membership page for current terms.
- Open the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics collection on your Switch. Nintendo lists GoldenEye 007 in that collection.
- Launch the game from the collection. Nintendo’s catalog says Expansion Pack membership is required for access.
Nintendo’s U.S. announcement said members could play the game starting January 26, 2023. It is presented as part of the membership collection, not as a standalone Switch game purchase.
Do you need the Nintendo 64 controller?
No. Nintendo says GoldenEye 007 is fully playable with the Switch-compatible Nintendo 64 controller, but the controller is not required to play the collection. You can use the controller setup you already have for Switch.
What is included in GoldenEye 007?
Nintendo describes the game as originally released for Nintendo 64 in 1997 and says its multiplayer mode supports two to four players. The availability announcement does not identify separate Switch editions.
