No. The viral 2024 Heisenberg poster was satire, not a genuine Breaking Bad movie announcement. The real film continuation is El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, released in 2019 and centered on Jesse Pinkman.
Why the 2024 Heisenberg poster was fake
In March 2024, a Facebook page called “YODA BBY ABY” circulated a poster claiming Bryan Cranston would return as Walter White in a sequel titled Heisenberg. It advertised a theatrical release in August 2024 from “AMC Films.” Those details came from the post, not from a verified studio announcement. Uproxx reported that the page described itself as “100% satire and fake news” and had shared other parody movie and reboot posters. Uproxx’s March 28, 2024 debunk identified the poster as fake.

When Uproxx published its report, the post had reportedly drawn more than 71,000 shares and nearly 60,000 comments. Those are figures from that report, not a current engagement count. Uproxx
What is the real Breaking Bad movie?
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is the genuine feature-film continuation. Released in 2019, it follows Jesse Pinkman after the events of the series finale as he tries to escape his past and begin again. Netflix’s official title page describes the film’s story, while Sony’s official film page identifies it as a Netflix television event written and directed by Vince Gilligan.

That makes the distinction straightforward: the fake Heisenberg poster claimed a post-finale Walter White story; El Camino is the documented film about Jesse. It is not a Walter White escape sequel.
Did Vince Gilligan announce another sequel?
No. In a 2022 AMC Q&A, Gilligan said he wanted a break from the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul world, while leaving open a possible return years later: “I guess secretly in my heart of hearts I’d like to revisit Breaking Bad at some point, but I think it would have to be years from now.” AMC’s 2022 interview records a qualified personal thought, not an announcement of a movie.
A TIME profile published in October 2025 described Pluribus as Gilligan’s first major project since leaving the Walter White universe. That is dated context about his work, not evidence that a future franchise project is impossible. TIME’s 2025 profile

The specific claim that a Heisenberg film would arrive in August 2024 was false; no genuine announcement supports the poster’s claim. That does not establish that the franchise can never return or rule out a confidential or future project. For a verified film continuation, the title to look for is El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.
