No official announcement in the available sources confirms an MCU film called Avengers: Eternity Wars. The name appeared in reporting about Marvel-related trademark filings in July 2022, but a filing is not proof that a movie, series, or production was planned. Marvel later announced Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars; those announcements did not connect either film to Eternity Wars.
What the Eternity Wars leak did—and did not—show
On July 23, 2022, BGR reported that Avengers: Eternity Wars was among names in a second batch of Marvel-related trademark filings. The report explicitly cautioned that Marvel had not confirmed the marks or their intended use, and that there was no guarantee the names would become MCU projects. BGR’s original report is evidence that the name surfaced in filing-related coverage—not evidence of a confirmed movie.
A trademark can protect a name for possible uses; its appearance in a filing does not establish that a project has been approved, filmed, or scheduled. BadTaste’s contemporaneous coverage also noted that some names in the second batch might be connected to comics rather than films. BadTaste’s report therefore offers an additional reason not to treat every listed name as an MCU movie title.
Which Marvel-related titles were reported?
BGR described two batches of names. The filing reports did not establish the intended medium or confirm that the names would be used for screen projects.

The lists show what outlets reported from the filings, not a slate of confirmed Marvel productions. In particular, the presence of Avengers: Secret Wars in a 2022 filing report and its later status as an announced film are separate pieces of evidence.
What later reporting said about the trademark
In a November 13, 2023 report, ComicBookMovie said that several other trademarks had been withdrawn while Avengers: Eternity Wars remained trademarked at that time. That report describes the status it observed in 2023. The sources available here do not establish the mark’s current official legal status in October 2026, so it would be inaccurate to say that it is still active—or that it has been withdrawn—today.
How the leak compares with Marvel’s announced Avengers films
Marvel/Disney’s July 31, 2024 report on the San Diego Comic-Con presentation identified Avengers: Doomsday, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, as announced films. The report listed U.S. release windows of May 2026 and May 2027, respectively; those are historical dates from that 2024 announcement, not a verified current schedule.
