What does the $122 million figure mean?
The available reporting does not establish what the headline’s $122 million refers to, so it should not be described as the film’s production budget. The Associated Press reported on April 14, 2024, that Civil War had a $50 million production budget; that figure excludes millions spent on marketing and promotion. The AP’s box-office report gives the budget figure and its qualification.
Is the 81% Rotten Tomatoes score still current?
No. Rotten Tomatoes displayed an 80% Tomatometer score from 410 critic reviews when its listing was checked on October 4, 2026. The 81% figure is therefore a past snapshot, not a fixed rating: aggregator scores can change as reviews are added or updated. Rotten Tomatoes’ listed critics consensus calls the film “a harrowing vision of a nation tearing itself apart” and emphasizes the journalists’ determination to bear witness.
