Irish Wish is a 2024 Netflix romantic comedy starring Lindsay Lohan as Maddie Kelly, a book editor who wishes for true love in Ireland after the author she loves becomes engaged to her best friend. The wish shifts her into an alternate version of events, where she must reconsider whether the life she thought she wanted is really right for her.
What is Irish Wish about?
Maddie Kelly has helped ghostwrite books for a successful author and has fallen in love with him. When he announces his engagement to Maddie’s best friend, she travels to Ireland for the wedding and makes a spontaneous wish for true love.

The wish changes Maddie’s circumstances: she becomes the bride-to-be in an alternate reality. As that version of her life unfolds, Maddie begins to see that getting what she thought she wanted may not mean finding the love she actually needs. The setup makes the film a romantic fantasy about choice and self-discovery, rather than a straightforward wedding romance.

Where was Irish Wish filmed?
RTÉ reported that filming took place at several Irish locations: Kilruddery House and Lough Tay in County Wicklow, Westport Town, and the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare. These are reported production locations, not a suggested sightseeing route or confirmation that every site is currently open to visitors.

Lohan also recalled running at Glendalough and up Djouce Mountain during filming, then visiting The Happy Pear in Greystones. Those are personal recollections of places she visited; they do not establish that each appears on screen.
Where can you watch Irish Wish?
Netflix identifies Irish Wish as a Netflix film, and its Ireland title listing is at Netflix. Netflix Tudum reported on March 15, 2024 that the film was streaming on the service around St. Patrick’s Day. Catalogs vary by country and can change, so check Netflix in your region for current availability.

Runtime, rating and critical response
Netflix Tudum lists a runtime of 1 hour 34 minutes and a TV-PG rating. TIME’s March 15, 2024 review called the movie a “lightweight dream-fulfillment fantasy” and praised Lohan’s performance; that is one critic’s assessment, not a measure of broader audience opinion.
