Leonardo DiCaprio reportedly bought a renovated Beverly Hills home for $9.9 million in December 2021. Accounts describe a 1936 residence with a spiral staircase, an updated kitchen, a pool, and a detached guesthouse. The published room and floor-area figures conflict, and the reporting does not establish who owns or occupies the property today.

How much did Leonardo DiCaprio pay for the Beverly Hills home?

Realtor.com reported that the house was listed for $10.2 million in August 2021 and that the sale closed on December 3 for a reported $9.9 million. Architectural Digest also reported the $9.9 million purchase price. These are reported transaction figures, not independently reconciled public-record findings. Realtor.com’s 2021 coverage and Architectural Digest’s 2021 report provide the purchase details.

What does the house look like?

Architectural Digest reported that the home was built in 1936 and described traditional-leaning architecture paired with renovated finishes. Features in the purchase coverage include a wrought-iron spiral staircase, marble accents, modern lighting, and a gourmet kitchen with stainless-steel appliances and two wine coolers. The primary bedroom was described as having a cathedral ceiling. Architectural Digest

Realtor.com’s account adds white-oak floors, a family room with built-in bookshelves, an eat-in kitchen with an island, and an upstairs primary suite with a balcony overlooking the pool. It describes an open entertaining area that connects to the outdoor space, as well as a 0.27-acre lot with olive trees, outdoor seating, and a gated driveway. Realtor.com

Pool, patio, and guesthouse

Descriptions across the purchase and later rental coverage mention a pool, an outdoor dining area or terrace, and a fire-pit lounge. The detached guesthouse was described as matching the main house’s style. Mansion Global’s 2022 listing coverage said it could serve as another bedroom, gym, or workspace; that is a listing-era description, not confirmation of its present use. How many bedrooms and bathrooms does it have?

Published accounts disagree. The 2021 purchase coverage from Architectural Digest and Realtor.com described five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, with about 5,000 square feet. In 2022 rental coverage, Architectural Digest described four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and 4,671 square feet; Mansion Global also reported four bedrooms and six bathrooms. The reports do not explain whether the difference comes from measurement methods, room classification, or an error, so no single set of figures can be treated as definitive.

Was the home offered for rent?

Yes, according to 2022 coverage: Architectural Digest and Mansion Global reported a rental asking price of $32,500 per month. That figure is historical, not a current quote or evidence that the property is available now. Architectural Digest and Mansion Global

What is known about the property now?

The available coverage documents the reported 2021 purchase and a 2022 rental listing, but does not establish the property’s current owner, occupancy, condition, or rental availability. The reports identify the location as Beverly Hills; Architectural Digest’s 2022 rental article places it in Beverly Hills Flats. They do not provide a verified current listing address.
