The dessert is described as a three-step process—not a three-ingredient recipe—and can be prepared ahead, according to EatingWell’s April 12, 2025 report, syndicated by AOL.
What was on Ina Garten’s reported 2025 Passover menu?
The April 2025 report names four dishes, from soup through dessert:
- Chicken Soup with Matzo Balls
- Brisket with Onions and Leeks
- Orange-Braised Carrots and Parsnips
- Perfect Poached Fruit
These are the dishes in that specific 2025 menu report, not a claim that Garten has published the same menu as her current annual plan. The menu and recipe details below are attributed to EatingWell’s report; they were not independently tested for this article.
What is the three-step dessert?
Perfect Poached Fruit is a fruit dessert built around whole Bosc pears and dried fruit. The reported ingredients include dessert wine such as Vin Santo, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, citrus zest, dried figs, dried apricots and pitted prunes.

In a separate official post published March 31, 2026, Garten answered a reader asking how to serve a large family Seder. Her suggested menu is not the same four-dish 2025 lineup: it includes Matzo Ball Soup, Brisket with Onions and Leeks, Garlic Roasted Potatoes, Whitefish Salad, Oven-Roasted Vegetables, wine and sparkling water. She recommends serving soup after the stories are told, then putting the remaining food on platters buffet-style so guests can help themselves. The post also suggests centering the table on the Seder plate and candles, with bowls of pomegranates, oranges or figs. Garten writes, “Passover doesn’t have to be too sophisticated!” Read Garten’s official large-Seder advice.
