In May 2019, Iggy Azalea said she had not consented to topless images from a 2016 GQ Australia photo shoot being released. She described the leak as a violation, said she intended to identify its source and pursue criminal charges, and then deactivated her social media accounts. Her statement expressed an intention—not confirmation that charges were filed or that a case reached any particular outcome.
What Iggy Azalea said about the images
In a statement circulated on Twitter on May 27, 2019, Azalea said she had not agreed to topless pictures being taken for possible release: “I never consented to taking topless pictures for potential release, period.” She said she understood that only selected, covered images would be considered for print. Her statement was about consent to potential publication; it should not be recast as a claim that no such photographs were taken.

Azalea described the impact of the publication in personal terms: “I feel blindsided, embarrassed, violated, angry, sad, and a million other things.” She also said she was distressed by public comments about her body. ABC News reported that after issuing her statement, she deactivated her Instagram and Twitter accounts.
Where the outtakes came from
Contemporaneous reports identified the images published online in late May 2019 as outtakes from a 2016 GQ Australia cover shoot. That context matters: Azalea’s objection was to the release of material she said she had not consented to having published, not to the existence of the shoot itself.

What the photographer and GQ Australia said
Photographer Nino Muñoz said the images had been stolen and published without his permission. In a statement quoted in contemporaneous coverage, he said: “I’m outraged and saddened to find out that images of mine were stolen and published without my permission.”
Michael Christensen, then editor of GQ Australia, said the outtakes had not been approved or intended for publication and appeared to have been stolen from the photographer. His statement described what the magazine understood about the images; neither statement independently establishes who accessed or distributed them.

The contemporaneous reports cited here do not establish whether charges were subsequently filed, whether an investigation concluded, or what any later legal outcome may have been.
ABC News reported the response on May 29, 2019, with an update on May 30; The FADER reported on Azalea’s statement on May 28. The episode is a 2019 event, not a current announcement.
