The actor known for I Saw the TV Glow and Atypical announced in January 2025 that they would go by Jack Haven. A later professional biography from the Cannes Film Festival uses that name and lists both screen credits.
Who is Jack Haven?
Jack Haven is an actor and filmmaker whose credits include Maddy in I Saw the TV Glow and work on Atypical. Them reported the name announcement on January 21, 2025. Older coverage and credits may use Brigette Lundy-Paine; that is the name found in earlier materials, while Haven is the name used in the announcement and later professional biographies.
The Cannes Film Festival’s 2025 press kit and 2026 press kit use Jack Haven in professional biographies and list both titles. Those materials corroborate professional usage; they do not establish whether a legal name change was registered.
What did Haven say about the name?
According to Them’s report of Haven’s Instagram post, Haven wrote: “I am changing my name, going by Jack Haven now.” The report says the surname honors Haven’s great-great uncle, songwriter Haven Gillespie. Haven reportedly began using “Jack” after a workshop with trans Iranian actor and director Saman Arastoo, and later described using the name in spaces where it felt more challenging.
