One Direction bandmates mourn their “brother”
Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik, the four surviving members of One Direction, said they were devastated and would take time to grieve. Their joint statement read: “We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever.”
The band formed in 2010 and released five albums, according to ABC News. The group’s statement reflected a relationship built over years of shared work and memories, while leaving open the possibility of saying more later.
