The TV father she named when talking about that performance was Bob Saget, who played Danny Tanner to her D.J. Tanner on Full House. In a March 27, 2025 interview with Collider’s Michael Block, Bure said Saget is the person she would have called for encouragement before going on stage. She described what she imagines he would have offered, not a conversation that actually took place.
Who was Cherry Blossom on The Masked Singer?
Cherry Blossom was the costumed identity of Candace Cameron Bure in season 13 of FOX’s The Masked Singer. She appeared as part of Group C’s Carnival Night. FOX’s official season 13 page lists “Group C Premiere: Carnival Night” as episode 7, dated March 26, 2025, so that is the broadcast date to use when citing her appearance.
Bob Saget and the Full House relationship
On Full House, Saget played Danny Tanner, the father figure to Bure’s D.J. Tanner. Saget died in January 2022. When Block asked Bure about honoring him, her answers treated Saget as a figure she was still speaking about with affection and gratitude, and the interview centers on that bond rather than on the show’s format.
The pep talk she imagines
Block asked whether Saget would be proud of her. Bure’s answer was:

“I can imagine him being here and even giving me a pep talk before going on, because he’s the person I would have called.”
The sentence is conditional and imaginative. Bure was describing the support she believes Saget would have given, and the interview does not report any actual call, message or exchange with him about the performance.

Why she almost said no
Bure told Collider she had been asked to join the show four times. She said no three times because she was scared to sing in front of people, and accepted the fourth invitation. Those numbers are her own recollection of the invitations; they are not an independently verified figure about how the show recruits guests.
Her decision line from the interview was short: “I think I need to just say yes and do this.” She called herself brave for accepting, and said the experience reminded her that parts of life need not always be taken seriously and can be approached for fun.
