What Jackman shared in the year-end post
PerthNow reported that the December 30, 2023 Instagram carousel contained ten photos. It quoted Jackman’s caption as “Lost & found year end photo dump. #2023.”
In its description of the roundup, PerthNow noted an image of Jackman with Ryan Reynolds and another showing Jackman sipping a cocktail. Geo.tv separately characterized the collection as including personal moments and film-set pictures. These are the outlets’ descriptions of the images, not an explanation from Jackman of what the selection meant.
How the post relates to the separation news
Jackman and Furness announced their separation in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage. Their joint statement, reported by ABC News Australia, said: “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.” The statement also asked that the family’s privacy be respected.

The post followed that announcement, and PerthNow framed it in that context. But the available reporting establishes the sequence, not that Jackman intended the photo roundup as a response to the separation. The contemporaneous reports describe a separation announcement, not a finalized divorce.

The Associated Press reported that Jackman and Furness met in 1995 while working on an Australian television production and married in 1996. They have two children. That background helps explain why the September announcement drew attention, but it does not clarify the meaning of the year-end post.
