Howard Stern’s February 2012 show archive documents a segment about Paris Hilton’s “Drunk Text,” in which he jokingly paraphrased the track. The record supports a reaction to one song—not the broader claim that he condemned Hilton’s music career. “Drunk Text” was described at the time as an unfinished leaked video, and Hilton later said it had been made for fun.
What Howard Stern said about “Drunk Text”
The official Howard Stern Show February 2012 archive lists a segment titled “Howard On the New Paris Hilton Single” in the rundown associated with Tuesday, February 28. The February 29 show page says Stern listened to “Drunk Text” and gives his comic summary: “I went to the club and texted a guy. And my bitches.” The page says his summary became parody.

That is evidence of Stern making fun of the track in a show segment. It does not establish that he broadly “bashed” Hilton’s music career. Nor do the cited archive pages document when or why a clip may have resurfaced more recently; they establish the original 2012 context.
What “Drunk Text” was—and whether it was an album single
In February 2012, E! described “Drunk Text” as a spoken-word-style track and video associated with Hilton and electronic production duo Manufactured Superstars. E! reported that the video was an unfinished rough cut that was not ready for release. The duo’s statement to E! called it “an unfinished rough cut, which was not ready for release.”

Hilton’s representative told E!: “We can confirm that the video leaked today is not part of Paris Hilton’s new album.” So the available contemporaneous reporting does not support presenting “Drunk Text” as a confirmed official single from that album. E! also reported that the recording had been made more than a year before the February 2012 leak.
How Paris Hilton later described the track
In a 2014 interview with ELLE, Hilton recalled: “That song is something we did as a joke for fun! My friends asked me to do it as a favor, and I never knew it would come out so it’s pretty funny.” Her account frames the track as a casual favor rather than a serious album release.

The single’s leaked, unfinished status is distinct from Hilton’s earlier album career. E! reported that her 2006 debut album Paris reached No. 6 on the Billboard 200. That chart position belongs to the album, not to “Drunk Text”; the sources cited here do not establish that the track charted.
Some contemporaneous coverage offered strong opinions about the song. For example, the Los Angeles Times review was negative, but that is the critic’s judgment, not a neutral description or proof of Stern’s view of Hilton’s whole career.
