There is still time to watch the Peanuts gang for free around Thanksgiving 2026, but Apple has not yet confirmed this year’s free-streaming dates. The legal streaming home for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving remains Apple TV, where the special is currently listed for subscribers. Apple has repeatedly opened its holiday specials to nonsubscribers for a short seasonal window; in 2025, the free dates were November 15 and 16. That history makes another free promotion plausible, but it does not establish the 2026 schedule.
Thanksgiving Day in the United States falls on Thursday, November 26, 2026. If you want to watch without paying, check the Apple TV app and Apple TV Press closer to the holiday rather than relying on last year’s dates.
What is confirmed for Thanksgiving 2026?
As of August 12, 2026, Apple has not published the exact 2026 free-streaming dates for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. The latest confirmed schedule found is Apple’s 2025 promotion, when the special was available to nonsubscribers on Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16, 2025.
That promotion was part of an established seasonal pattern, but Apple can change both the dates and the length of the free window. In 2022, for example, the Thanksgiving special was free from November 23 through November 27. Those different schedules are why the 2025 weekend should not be presented as the 2026 timetable.

Apple’s current Peanuts listing identifies A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving as available in the Apple TV app with an Apple TV subscription. Apple’s 2026 programming information also includes the classic Peanuts specials among the titles available on the service.
Option 1: Watch it on Apple TV with a subscription
The most dependable way to watch the special before or outside a limited free promotion is an Apple TV subscription. Apple’s U.S. service page currently advertises the service at $12.99 per month after a seven-day free trial.
The trial is not necessarily available to every person or account. Eligibility and promotional terms can vary, so read the offer shown during signup. If you only want to use the trial, note the renewal date and cancel before billing begins; otherwise, the subscription renews under the terms displayed by Apple.

Basic steps
- Open the Apple TV app or the Apple TV website.
- Search for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.
- Sign in with an Apple Account and review the subscription or trial offer shown for your account.
- Confirm the renewal terms before starting a trial.
- Play the special from its Apple TV listing.
This route is useful if you want to watch immediately, do not want to wait for a free holiday window, or want access to other Apple TV programming. It is not the same as a currently confirmed free offer for everyone.

Option 2: Look for Apple’s seasonal free window
Apple has made its major Peanuts holiday specials free for limited periods in previous years. When Apple activates such a promotion, nonsubscribers can typically find the special through the Apple TV app without purchasing a continuing subscription. The exact presentation and account requirements can change, so verify the terms shown on your device.
A practical free-viewing checklist
- Start checking in November: Apple has historically announced holiday access relatively close to the holiday season.
- Search the Apple TV app directly: Look for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving rather than assuming a search result or old article reflects the current offer.
- Check the displayed access label: Confirm that the listing says it is free or included in the seasonal promotion before pressing play.
- Sign in if requested: Apple may require an Apple Account even when a title is being offered without a paid subscription.
- Do not start a trial by accident: If the app shows a subscription or trial screen instead of a free-play option, review the terms before accepting.
- Recheck the dates: A free window can expire before Thanksgiving Day itself.
The safest wording for 2026 is: Apple may announce a limited free window closer to Thanksgiving, but the dates are not confirmed yet. Check the Apple TV app and Apple TV Press for the official announcement.

When is Thanksgiving 2026?
In the United States, Thanksgiving is on Thursday, November 26, 2026. The free-streaming period, if Apple announces one, may begin before Thanksgiving and may end before or after the holiday. Do not assume that the special will be free on Thanksgiving Day simply because it was free during a previous year’s promotion.
Option 3: Keep the specials on disc
If you want a permanent fallback instead of depending on Apple’s changing holiday schedule, consider Peanuts: 75th Anniversary Ultimate TV Specials Collection. Released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 7, 2025, the set contains 40 remastered Peanuts television specials and includes a collectible booklet.
Recommended Free Tools
The Blu-ray version is a particularly useful search starting point: Peanuts 75th Anniversary Ultimate TV Specials Collection Blu-ray. A DVD version is also available as a relevant alternative for households without a Blu-ray player.
This is a recommendation for durable access and gifting—not a claim that A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving must be purchased separately or that a standalone Amazon listing is the only way to get it. The collection is simply less dependent on a temporary streaming promotion.

What about PBS or broadcast television?
Older articles may mention PBS or a scheduled television broadcast. Apple’s 2020 PBS announcement documents a historical arrangement, not a current recurring outlet for the 2026 holiday season. For the current streaming answer, Apple TV is the relevant official destination.
Likewise, avoid unofficial upload sites and unauthorized streams. They can disappear without notice, may be poor quality or unsafe, and are not a reliable legal way to watch the special.
Which option is best?
| What you want | Best route | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Watch before the holiday | Apple TV subscription | Apple currently advertises $12.99/month after a seven-day trial in the U.S.; eligibility and terms vary. |
| Watch without paying for a subscription | Wait for Apple’s seasonal promotion | The 2026 dates and duration have not been announced as of August 12, 2026. |
| Own a broad Peanuts collection | 75th Anniversary Ultimate TV Specials Collection | Available on DVD and Blu-ray; it is a physical-media fallback rather than a free-streaming option. |
Bottom line for 2026
You may be able to watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving free on Apple TV during a limited Thanksgiving promotion, as Apple has offered in previous years. But the 2026 dates are not confirmed yet. Mark November 26, 2026 on your calendar, begin checking Apple’s announcements in November, and verify the access terms inside the Apple TV app before starting a trial or assuming the special is free.
