It adds vibrations synchronized with the onscreen action. Apple announced the film’s trailer on March 13, 2025; the movie’s theatrical release followed in June 2025.
How to watch the F1 haptic trailer on iPhone
- Use an iPhone running iOS 18.4 or later.
- Open the Apple TV app and find the F1 The Movie haptic trailer.
- Play the trailer on the iPhone to experience its synchronized vibrations.
Apple describes the experience as designed specifically for iPhone. Its cited pages give the software requirement but do not list compatible iPhone models. They also do not establish haptic playback on iPad, Android, desktop, or television. Apple TV app availability for the movie on other platforms should not be taken to mean the haptic trailer works there.
What the haptic feedback adds
The trailer uses responsive vibrations timed to the footage. Apple says the sensations represent engine power, curbs, and gear shifts; it also says the sequences were designed frame by frame to follow the trailer’s rhythm and emotional beats. Apple sums up the approach with the line, “Every vibration serves the story.” These are Apple’s descriptions of the creative design, not independent performance findings.
Ordinary playback presents the trailer without this synchronized tactile layer. The haptic edition is therefore a distinct way to experience the same film promotion, rather than a separate cut of the movie.

How the trailer fits the film’s June 2025 release
Apple unveiled the film trailer on March 13, 2025. Its announcement listed theatrical starts of June 25 internationally and June 27 in North America. Those dates refer to the movie’s theatrical release, not the haptic trailer’s launch. Apple’s cited materials do not specify an exact release date for the haptic version.
Brad Pitt stars as Sonny Hayes, a former driver returning to Formula 1. Damson Idris plays rookie Joshua Pearce, his teammate at the fictional team APXGP. The story follows Hayes’ return and the team’s effort to compete. Director Joseph Kosinski made the film in collaboration with Formula 1; the sport says production filmed in real time during Grands Prix.
