Update: The third Ashes Test finished on 21 December 2025. It is not a live fixture in August 2026. The official services below were the rights holders during the match; a current subscription may offer later cricket, highlights or a replay, but it does not make this Test live again.
Australia played England at Adelaide Oval from 17–21 December 2025 in the 2025/26 NRMA Insurance Men’s Ashes Series. The principal video rights were Channel Seven, 7plus, Kayo Sports and Foxtel in Australia; TNT Sports and discovery+ in the UK and Ireland; and Willow in the United States and Canada.

Match details and original start times
- Match: Third Test, Australia v England
- Venue: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, South Australia
- Scheduled dates: Wednesday 17 December to Sunday 21 December 2025
- Scheduled start: 10:30 a.m. AEDT, as listed by Cricket Australia
Because Adelaide began play on a Wednesday morning, Europe and North America saw the start on Tuesday evening. Some UK listings rounded the start to approximately midnight GMT, so use the venue date and the conversion below rather than relying on a generic “17 December” label. “Ashes 2025” and “Ashes 2025/26” both appeared in coverage because the series began in November 2025 and ended in January 2026. BBC’s match guide confirms the Adelaide venue and dates.
| Location | Original start | Calendar date locally |
|---|---|---|
| Adelaide (AEDT) | 10:30 a.m. | Wednesday, 17 December |
| UK and Ireland (GMT) | 11:30 p.m. (approximately midnight in rounded listings) | Tuesday, 16 December |
| New York/Toronto (EST) | 6:30 p.m. | Tuesday, 16 December |
| Los Angeles (PST) | 3:30 p.m. | Tuesday, 16 December |
| Perth (AWST) | 7:30 a.m. | Wednesday, 17 December |
| India (IST) | 5:00 a.m. | Wednesday, 17 December |
Conversions use the advertised 10:30 a.m. AEDT start (UTC+11). Session times could change because of weather, over rates or a result before day five.

Australia: Seven, 7plus, Kayo and Foxtel
Channel Seven and 7plus
Channel Seven and its 7plus service were listed among Australia’s Ashes options. Channel Seven was the free-to-air route; 7plus was the associated streaming option. However, a Seven broadcast did not automatically establish that every session was streamed live on 7plus, or that no sign-in, device or location condition applied. Check Seven’s cricket listing for the archived event before assuming a replay remains available. Cricket Australia’s Australian viewing guide lists the services.
Kayo Sports
Kayo Sports was the dedicated paid-streaming choice for viewers wanting live-sport controls and a sports-focused interface without an existing Foxtel television package. No current Kayo price was verified for this guide, and its present replay library should be checked before subscribing for a historical Test.
Foxtel
Foxtel also carried the match through its relevant sports distribution. Existing customers should confirm the sports channel and package included the Test. Foxtel was not a free alternative, and a new subscription in 2026 does not guarantee access to the completed match.
Australian audio and scores
Cricket Australia’s match centre and Cricket Radio supplied legitimate live updates and audio, including standard and real-time options described in its preview. They followed the action without providing live video.
UK, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands
TNT Sports and discovery+
TNT Sports held the live Ashes rights in these territories. Viewers could use TNT Sports through a television provider or stream it through discovery+. A standard entertainment-only discovery+ subscription was not enough: the selected plan had to include TNT Sports. TNT’s rights announcement describes the original coverage as live and exclusive: TNT Sports Ashes rights information.
For context, TNT’s information page showed prices seen in August 2026 of £30.99 per month for TNT Sports-only and £33.99 for TNT Sports and Entertainment. Those are current 2026 signals, not prices charged for the December 2025 Test, and they do not restore a live broadcast. See the current plan information.
BBC radio and text
BBC Test Match Special provided ball-by-ball radio through BBC Sounds, BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and the BBC Sport website or app. BBC also supplied live text and clips. These were alternatives to TNT’s video feed, not the main UK live television broadcast, and some digital features were restricted to UK users. BBC’s coverage guide explains the audio and digital services.
United States and Canada
Willow
Cricket Australia’s global guide listed Willow for the United States, Canada and specified U.S. territories. Willow is distributed through participating cable, satellite, IPTV and streaming providers, and also offers direct cricket subscriptions. Check an existing channel package before purchasing a second subscription; Willow’s channel availability differs by provider and territory. Cricket Australia’s global rights guide provides the territory list.

Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Willow’s Canada page showed C$9.99 monthly or C$79.99 annually, plus taxes, when checked in August 2026. Its terms also showed a US$9.99 monthly U.S. iOS in-app signal. Platform, tax and territory pricing can differ, and neither figure is evidence of the price paid during the 2025 Ashes. Current pages may promote later cricket rather than this completed Test. Check Willow Canada, Willow distribution and Willow’s terms.
Other countries and territories
Rights were country-specific. Use Cricket Australia’s territory-by-territory guide to identify the licensed broadcaster where you live; do not assume that an Australian, UK or North American service works elsewhere. If no local rights holder is shown, use Cricket Australia’s official match centre or Cricket Radio and look for official highlights or replays from the broadcaster, Cricket Australia, England Cricket or the ICC.
Legal ways to follow the match after the broadcast
- Scores and commentary: Cricket Australia match centre.
- Audio: Cricket Radio internationally and BBC Test Match Special in the UK where available.
- Text: BBC Sport live text for eligible UK users.
- Video: Search the official broadcaster or governing-body channels for an available replay or highlights package; availability is not guaranteed in August 2026.
Do not use unauthorised IPTV or “free stream” pages. Fake play buttons, malware, credential theft and unstable feeds are common, and they do not provide licensed coverage.

A VPN is not a guaranteed or officially endorsed solution. Broadcasters can block VPN addresses, and services may still require payment credentials, account residency or location verification. VPN use can also conflict with a platform’s terms. Start with the licensed service for your actual country; a VPN does not create viewing rights where a service is unavailable.
Choosing the appropriate service
| Viewer | Most appropriate route during the Test | Key limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Australia seeking free access | Channel Seven or eligible 7plus coverage | Confirm which sessions 7plus streamed and any registration requirements |
| Australia wanting a sports streamer | Kayo Sports | Paid service; current replay availability must be checked |
| UK/Ireland television customer | TNT Sports through the existing provider | Requires the appropriate sports package |
| UK/Ireland streaming viewer | discovery+ plan including TNT Sports | Entertainment-only access was insufficient |
| United States or Canada | Willow directly or through a participating provider | Package and pricing vary by territory and platform |
| Audio-only follower | BBC Test Match Special or Cricket Radio | Audio and text are not live video |
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the third Ashes Test still live?
No. Australia v England at Adelaide Oval ended on 21 December 2025. Current services may carry highlights or a replay, but the original live event has finished.
Could I watch it free in Australia?
Channel Seven was the free-to-air broadcaster and 7plus was listed as a streaming option. Whether every session was streamed, and what registration or device rules applied, depended on Seven’s coverage.
Was any discovery+ subscription enough in the UK?
No. The plan had to include TNT Sports; an entertainment-only discovery+ plan did not provide the Ashes video feed.
Can Willow be used without cable?
Willow also offers direct subscriptions, but availability and price depend on country, platform and tax. Check whether your existing television or streaming provider already includes the channel.

Where can I find legal highlights or a replay?
Check the official broadcaster in your territory, Cricket Australia, England Cricket or ICC channels. A current subscription page alone does not prove that this completed Test remains in the replay library.
The Bottom Line
The third Ashes Test was a December 2025 event, not a live August 2026 fixture. During play, use Seven/7plus, Kayo or Foxtel in Australia; TNT Sports via television or discovery+ in the UK and Ireland; Willow in the U.S. and Canada; and Cricket Australia or BBC audio and text services for legal follow-along coverage.
