Megalopolis was unusually difficult to watch at home in the United States during 2025. Although Francis Ford Coppola’s film had previously appeared as a digital rental or purchase, those U.S. listings were withdrawn. The dependable alternatives were a local theatrical screening, an imported U.K. disc, or—depending on your country—a regional streaming service such as MUBI or Netflix.
Is Megalopolis streaming in the U.S.?
For most of 2025, Megalopolis did not have a reliable legal U.S. streaming, rental, or purchase option. JustWatch’s U.S. listing reported no current offer, while earlier Apple TV and Prime Video listings had been removed.

That means a search result showing an Apple TV page should not be treated as proof that the film is available. Apple’s TV app includes titles from outside the Apple TV+ subscription service, including transactional rentals and purchases. A film appearing in the app is not necessarily included with Apple TV+.
| Service or option | U.S. status during 2025 | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Apple TV | No dependable current offer | Older rental or purchase listings were withdrawn. Apple TV is not the same as Apple TV+. |
| Prime Video | No confirmed U.S. subscription availability | Some references pointed to an old transactional listing or a non-U.S. catalog. |
| Netflix | Not confirmed in the U.S. | The title was listed in Germany and selected European markets. |
| MUBI | Not confirmed in the U.S. | MUBI carried the film in selected territories, including the U.K. and Ireland. |
| Peacock, Hulu, Max | No confirmed 2025 release | Predictions about a Peacock launch were not official announcements. |
Where to watch Megalopolis outside the U.S.
MUBI in the U.K. and Ireland
MUBI listed Megalopolis in selected territories, including the United Kingdom and Ireland, by September 2025. The film’s MUBI page for one country does not establish availability elsewhere: MUBI’s catalog is licensed territory by territory.
#1 Best Overall
If you are in the U.K. or Ireland, search for the exact title in your local MUBI catalog and check the film’s page before subscribing. Catalogs can change, so an old article or a search-engine result may no longer reflect the current offer.
Netflix in Germany and selected European markets
Netflix listed Megalopolis in Germany and other selected European territories. The German Netflix page is not evidence that the film is available through a U.S. Netflix account. Netflix rights are determined by the country associated with the account and the service being accessed.
For viewers outside the U.S., the practical method is to search the local Netflix site or app while signed in to the relevant regional account. Do the same with MUBI, Apple TV, and Prime Video, since a title can be available for a digital purchase in one country but absent in another.

How to check availability in your country
- Open a local streaming or rental service. Use the country-specific version of Netflix, MUBI, Apple TV, or Prime Video rather than relying on a U.S. search result.
- Search the exact title. Enter Megalopolis, not just “Coppola” or “new sci-fi movie.” Check that the result is the 2024 film starring Adam Driver, not an unrelated title.
- Read the offer carefully. Confirm whether the page says included with a subscription, available to rent, or available to buy. Those are different offers.
- Check the playback country. A German Netflix listing or U.K. MUBI page does not guarantee access from the United States or another country.
- Verify before paying. Rights can change without a simultaneous worldwide announcement. Confirm that the play, rent, or buy button is active on your account.
Can you watch it on disc?
A U.K. 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray edition became available in early 2025 and offered an import route for viewers who could not find the film digitally. The 4K disc is generally reported as region-free, but the Blu-ray included in the package may use a regional format.
Before ordering, check two things:
- Whether your 4K player supports the disc and its video format.
- Whether the included Blu-ray is compatible with your player’s region.
This is a physical-media option, not a way to unlock the film on Apple TV+, Prime Video, or another subscription service. Import availability, delivery costs, and edition details can also vary by seller.
Could you still see it in a theater?
Megalopolis originally opened in U.S. theaters on September 27, 2024, distributed by Lionsgate. Francis Ford Coppola later arranged additional U.S. roadshow screenings in 2025, including screenings connected with his “How to Change Our Future” events.
For a theatrical showing, check independent cinemas, repertory programs, film societies, and event listings in your area. These screenings are likely to be limited and are not a substitute for a regular nationwide release, but they may be the best legal U.S. option when no digital listing is active.
Why some online answers are misleading
Several recurring claims about Megalopolis confuse an old listing, a prediction, or a regional page with a current U.S. release.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- “It’s on Apple TV+.” An Apple TV page can represent a rental or purchase listing. Apple TV+ is the separate subscription catalog.
- “It’s on Prime Video.” This may refer to a previous transactional listing or to Prime Video in another country. It does not establish inclusion with a U.S. Prime membership.
- “It’s coming to Peacock in January 2025.” This was reported as speculation rather than a confirmed Peacock announcement.
- “The official website says it is available on demand.” The film’s official “Where to Watch” information does not guarantee that a current U.S. storefront listing still exists. Digital rights and listings changed after that information was published.
The most practical legal options
For someone in the U.S. during 2025, start by checking for a local screening. If there is no showing, the U.K. 4K release is the most concrete home-viewing alternative, provided your equipment can handle the disc and any included Blu-ray.

Viewers in the U.K., Ireland, Germany, and other selected European territories should search their local MUBI and Netflix catalogs. Do not assume that a service available in one country will carry the film in another. The key distinction is between a genuine, playable local listing and an old search result that merely remains indexed.
