Where to stream Chris Marker’s films
Criterion Channel has listings for La Jetée and Sans Soleil. The service is a documented online option for these two films, but a listing does not guarantee that you can play it from your country. A Criterion page opened with a geographic availability block, so check the title in your local catalog and confirm playback access before subscribing.
- Criterion Channel: La Jetée lists the 28-minute, 1963 French film. Criterion also lists an alternate French audio track and supplemental material.
- Criterion Channel: Sans Soleil provides a listing for the 1983 film.
Streaming catalogs can differ by territory and change over time. If either page is unavailable where you are, that does not show that the film is unavailable everywhere; check the service’s current local catalog.
Where to buy the films on DVD or Blu-ray
Criterion’s La Jetée/Sans Soleil collection is listed as a one-disc set in both DVD and Blu-ray editions. It pairs the two films and is the clearest documented home-video option for seeing them together.

La Jetée (1963) is a time-travel story told in still images. Sans Soleil (1983) is a free-form travelogue that journeys from Africa to Japan. Criterion describes them as Marker’s best-loved and most widely seen works; that characterization does not mean they are his only films.
