To view or edit Netflix watch history, use a web browser: open Account → Profiles → select a profile → Viewing activity. You can expand the list, download it as a CSV, hide individual titles or a whole series, or choose Hide all. Netflix calls this hiding rather than a separate permanent-delete function.
Netflix’s complete watch-history controls are easiest to use in a web browser. Sign in, open Account, go to Profiles, select the profile, and choose Viewing activity. From there you can inspect the list, export it as a CSV file, hide individual episodes or movies, hide an entire series, or use Hide all. Netflix calls this action hiding history—not a separate permanent-delete command.
How to view your Netflix watch history
- Open Netflix in a web browser and sign in.
- Open your account settings by selecting your profile icon and choosing Account.
- Under Profiles, select the profile whose history you want to inspect.
- Choose Viewing activity.
- If Netflix shows only a shortened list, select Show More to load older entries.
The list is associated with the selected Netflix profile. If several people use the account, check that you selected the right profile before concluding that a title was watched by someone else.
Download your Netflix viewing history
To save a copy, open the profile’s Viewing activity page and select Download all at the bottom. Netflix exports the activity as a CSV file, which you can open in spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, or Google Sheets. The export is useful if you need to search, sort, or retain a record rather than simply review the titles on Netflix’s page. How to edit or hide Netflix watch history
Hide one episode or movie
- Open the relevant profile’s Viewing activity page.
- Find the episode or movie you want to remove from the visible history.
- Select the hide icon beside that entry.
- Confirm the action if Netflix asks you to do so.
Netflix says a hidden title will no longer appear as a TV show or movie watched by that profile. It also says the title will not be used for recommendations unless it is watched again, and it will be removed from Continue Watching.
Hide an entire series
If you hide an episode from a TV series, Netflix may offer an option to hide the entire series. Choose that option if you want to remove the series rather than only the selected episode. This is useful when several episodes appear in the history and you do not want to hide them one at a time.
Hide the entire visible history
Scroll to the bottom of the Viewing activity page and select Hide all. Review the confirmation carefully before proceeding: this is a bulk action for the selected profile’s viewing activity, not a way to selectively remove a few entries.

What happens after you hide a title?
Hiding changes what Netflix shows in the profile’s viewing history and removes that title from the profile’s recommendation signals and Continue Watching row, according to Netflix. The update may not appear everywhere immediately: Netflix says removal from all devices can take up to 24 hours.
It is more accurate to say that Netflix hides the title from the viewing history than to promise that every internal record is instantly and permanently erased. Netflix separately describes viewing activity and content interactions as account data. If you need a copy of information Netflix stores about the account, use its personal-information request guidance.
Viewing activity is not the same as Continue Watching
The full Viewing activity page is a record of titles watched by a profile. Continue Watching is a row intended to help you resume unfinished titles. Netflix also provides a Remove From Row control for Continue Watching on supported devices. Removing an item from that row is not necessarily the same as editing the full viewing-activity list.
If you only want to remove a program from the home screen, use Remove From Row where that control is available. If you want to change the profile’s watch record and recommendation signals, use the browser-based Viewing activity controls instead. The exact Continue Watching controls can vary by device and app version; Netflix describes the current options in its Continue Watching help article.

Limitations you should know
- Use a browser for the complete workflow. Netflix’s documented route begins on the web Account page. The mobile and TV apps may not expose the full history-management page.
- Kids profiles cannot use the hide controls. Netflix says titles cannot be hidden when Viewing activity is reached from a Netflix Kids profile.
- Changes may take up to 24 hours. A title can remain visible on another device temporarily after you hide it.
- Inactive accounts have a different process. If the Netflix account is no longer active, Netflix says you must download a copy of your information to see viewing history. Its information-request process may take up to 30 days after identity verification.
If you see a title you did not watch
An unfamiliar title does not automatically prove that someone broke into the account. It may be on another profile, may have been watched by someone with access, or may reflect shared-account use. Check the profile first, then review the account’s recently active devices.
- Confirm which profile contains the unfamiliar title.
- Open Netflix’s Manage Access and Devices area from the account settings.
- Review the device type, most recently used profile, and latest streaming date and time.
- Sign out of devices you do not recognize.
- Change the Netflix password.
- If access may have been widely shared, sign out of all devices and then sign in again only on devices you trust.
Netflix notes that device information may take up to 48 hours to appear and that not every signed-in device is necessarily shown. Device activity and viewing activity therefore answer different questions: one shows where the account was recently used, while the other shows titles associated with a profile. Netflix’s account-security guidance covers device review, password changes, and signing out.
Do not treat the location in a new-sign-in email as conclusive by itself. Netflix says that location is based on the device’s IP address and may not exactly match the user’s real location.
What to do if Netflix will not save the change
If the hide control does not work or an account/profile change does not stick, the problem may be the browser session rather than the history feature. Try these steps in order:

- Refresh the Netflix page and repeat the change.
- Clear the Netflix cookie, then sign in again.
- Temporarily disable browser extensions, especially privacy, content-blocking, or script-control extensions.
- Try the same task in a clean or different browser.
- Contact Netflix Support if the control is still missing or the change remains unsaved.
Clearing the Netflix cookie signs you out, so make sure you have your sign-in details available first. Netflix’s browser troubleshooting instructions recommend clearing the cookie, restarting the browser, and disabling extensions when account or profile changes do not save. You do not need third-party cleanup software to view or edit Netflix history; the feature is handled through Netflix’s own Account page.

Does hiding a Netflix title permanently delete it?
Netflix says hidden titles are removed from the profile’s viewing history, recommendation signals, and Continue Watching. The change can take up to 24 hours to appear on all devices, and Netflix does not describe hiding as an immediate permanent deletion of every internal record.
Why can’t I hide a title from a Kids profile?
Netflix says titles cannot be hidden when Viewing activity is accessed from a Netflix Kids profile.
