What CameraFi Live can—and cannot—be confirmed to do
CameraFi describes CameraFi Live as a mobile live-streaming app. Its Android beginner guide documents Camera and Screen modes and says the Video menu can add video files, image files, the built-in camera, and USB external cameras as sources. There are two different setups people may mean by “use a TV box for a video loop”:
- Select a video inside CameraFi Live: the app itself supplies the video source. CameraFi documents video files in its Android guide, but not whether the app is available or works on a particular TV box.
- Play a file continuously on the box and send its output to CameraFi: this depends on the box being able to run the app, make the file accessible, and repeat playback. The available guidance does not establish any of those capabilities.
Do not treat an Android TV box as a supported CameraFi setup unless you verify the exact model, Android version, app availability, file access, and repeat controls yourself. CameraFi’s published workflow is general Android guidance, not a TV-box-specific procedure.

Check the box before preparing a broadcast
- Check app availability: search the supported app store on the exact box for CameraFi Live. The guidance does not confirm TV-box app-store availability. Do not assume that an app listed for Android phones will install or operate correctly on a TV interface.
- Check the file source: if CameraFi Live is available, see whether its Video menu can browse to the file stored or connected on your box. The guide documents adding video files in its Android workflow, but not file access from TV-box storage.
- Look for repeat playback: inspect the video source controls for an explicit repeat or loop option. The CameraFi guide does not document one. Being able to add a file does not prove that it will restart automatically at the end.
- Check the full chain with a test: confirm the video and audio reach the broadcast preview, then check the YouTube watch page and monitor the stream. YouTube recommends previewing and monitoring audio and video; this is a check, not a guarantee of long-run stability. YouTube’s live-streaming tips
If any check fails, the sources do not establish sideloading, capture hardware, or another TV-box workaround as a supported fix. YouTube supports streaming through an encoder configured in Live Control Room, but that describes an encoder route generally and does not validate a particular replacement device or software package. Set up a YouTube broadcast in CameraFi Live

- Confirm the channel can go live. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. If this is the channel’s first live stream, activation may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave it until the planned broadcast. YouTube live-streaming eligibility
- Select YouTube and sign in in CameraFi Live, then enter the broadcast screen.
- Configure the broadcast using the available title, privacy, and resolution settings. Choose a privacy setting appropriate to your test or intended audience.
- Complete the stream setup and create or start the broadcast using CameraFi’s controls. Check the YouTube preview before treating the stream as ready for viewers.
- Monitor the picture and sound during the stream, especially after starting playback and when the file reaches its end. Stop the broadcast using CameraFi’s Stop control when finished.
The published guide describes starting and stopping a YouTube broadcast; it does not establish a continuous-loop control or promise that a box-based session will stay connected.

Archiving a long loop
YouTube’s encoder guidance says live streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish that a longer CameraFi session will be archived as one complete recording. If you need an archive, plan around the under-12-hour guidance rather than assuming a longer loop will be preserved as a single video. YouTube encoder setup guidance
Common problems and what to check
- CameraFi Live does not appear in the box’s app store: TV-box availability is not confirmed. Use a streaming method supported by your hardware rather than assuming an installation workaround will work.
- The app opens, but cannot find the video: the documented file-source workflow does not confirm access to TV-box storage. Check whether the file is visible to CameraFi’s Video source picker.
- The video plays once and stops: a loop option is not documented in CameraFi’s guide. Check the source controls on your version; do not assume that adding a file enables repeat playback.
- You cannot start a YouTube broadcast: verify the channel’s live eligibility and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation where applicable.
- Viewers cannot hear or see the expected output: check the preview and monitor audio and video as YouTube recommends. A successful preview does not establish uninterrupted long-run operation.
- The stream ends or drops: the reviewed CameraFi guidance does not promise recovery or continuous operation on a TV box. Confirm the stream status and restart only if the app and YouTube controls allow it.
- The archive is incomplete or absent after a long broadcast: YouTube’s cited automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours; it does not support a promise of a complete single archive for longer sessions.
