That enables the feature for eligible content, but YouTube’s help pages do not specifically guarantee Super Chat on every continuous 24/7 prerecorded rebroadcast. Check the actual stream in Studio before relying on it.
Check eligibility first
The Supers section appears only for eligible channels. You need access to YouTube’s fan-funding features, live chat on the relevant content, availability in your location, and compliance with the applicable terms and policies. You may also need to accept the Commerce Product Module during setup.
YouTube’s monetization eligibility page lists a lower YPP fan-funding tier of 500 subscribers, three public uploads in the preceding 90 days, and either 3,000 qualifying public watch hours over 365 days or 3 million qualifying Shorts views over 90 days. These are entry thresholds, not a guarantee that Super Chat will be enabled: feature-specific conditions still apply. The page also lists a higher tier for additional monetization features, but that is not the Super Chat threshold. Check YouTube’s current monetization eligibility requirements.
Turn on Super Chat in YouTube Studio on desktop
- Sign in to YouTube Studio with the channel account.
- In the left navigation, select Earn, then open Supers.
- Select Get started and follow the on-screen setup.
- Accept the Commerce Product Module if YouTube presents it.
- Turn on the Super Chat switch.
If the Supers tab or setup option is missing, the channel may not currently have access. Use the checks below rather than assuming the setting is available to every channel.

Use the YouTube Studio mobile app
In the Studio app, tap Earn and open the Supers card. If the card offers Get started, complete the prompts and enable Super Chat. If the Supers area is absent, check channel eligibility and location availability in Studio.
What prerecorded formats can use Super Chat?
YouTube describes Super Chat and Super Stickers as features for eligible live streams and Premieres. When channel Supers are enabled, they are automatically available on an eligible Premiere. That makes a Premiere the clearly documented option for presenting prerecorded video with live chat and Supers.

A continuous 24/7 rebroadcast of prerecorded video is a different setup. The official help pages do not expressly confirm that every such stream qualifies, so do not assume that enabling the channel-level switch guarantees Super Chat on the rebroadcast. Inspect the individual stream in Studio and confirm that viewers can use live chat.
Check the individual stream and live chat
Channel access alone is not enough. Super Chat is unavailable on age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, and YouTube Giving fundraiser videos. It also will not be available where live chat or comments are turned off. Review the video’s status and audience settings as well as its chat settings in Studio. See YouTube’s Super Chat eligibility, availability, and policies.

Why viewers may not see Super Chat
- The Supers tab is missing: Check whether the channel meets current fan-funding eligibility requirements and whether the feature is available in your location. Complete the CPM setup if Studio prompts you.
- Super Chat is not offered on this stream: Confirm the stream is eligible and that live chat is enabled. Check for excluded statuses such as Made for Kids, private, unlisted, age-restricted, or fundraiser content.
- The stream is a continuous prerecorded rebroadcast: YouTube’s documentation does not specifically settle every 24/7 rebroadcast configuration. Verify the actual stream in Studio; consider a Premiere if you need the documented prerecorded format.
YouTube says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google, calculated after local sales tax and iOS App Store fees; Google currently covers transaction costs such as credit-card fees. This revenue-share detail can change, so consult YouTube’s current Supers policy and eligibility information before making financial estimates.
