There is no documented one-click import for a recurring Gyre schedule into Restream. Plan to recreate the schedule in Restream, reconnect or select the right YouTube events, and verify each event before retiring the Gyre workflow. You can reuse stream configurations, but each YouTube event is a one-time destination.
What transfers—and what you need to rebuild
Gyre’s Streams Scheduler and a YouTube live event are separate parts of the setup. Restream’s instructions cover selecting an existing YouTube event or creating an event in Restream; they do not document importing Gyre’s recurring schedule. Treat this as a manual migration. Gyre’s scheduler guide and Restream’s event connection guide describe their respective workflows.
A recurring series may reuse stream settings, but do not assume one YouTube event can serve every date: Restream says a YouTube event can only be gone live to once. Create a separate event for each occurrence. Google’s YouTube Live API documentation likewise describes scheduled broadcasts as separate broadcast resources that can be bound to a reusable stream resource.
1. Inventory your Gyre schedule
Before changing anything, record the details for every recurring stream. The available documentation does not establish that Gyre provides a complete schedule export, so check your account and copy details manually if necessary.

- YouTube event URL and channel
- Title, description, thumbnail, and privacy setting
- Scheduled date, time, and time zone
- Source video or playlist, and whether it is a prerecorded loop or an encoder feed
- Any intended YouTube auto-start or auto-stop behavior
2. Connect each stream to YouTube in Restream
Choose the approach that fits the event and the Restream features you need. Restream says its native YouTube API integration is free to all Restream users; Custom RTMP requires a paid plan. Restream’s instructions explain both methods.

Use the native YouTube connection
- Connect the relevant YouTube channel to your Restream account.
- Open the stream or event in Restream and edit its YouTube channel destination.
- Select the intended existing YouTube event from the dropdown, then save.
- Confirm that the selected event is the right one for that date and channel.
Use Custom RTMP
- In YouTube Live Control Room, open the scheduled event and copy its stream URL and stream key.
- Check the event’s auto-start and auto-stop settings in YouTube.
- In Restream, add a Custom RTMP channel and enter the copied credentials.
- Enable that destination on the relevant Restream stream and save.
- Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send a stream to that destination.
3. Recreate the recurring dates in Restream
Restream supports scheduling from an existing stream card, a Studio setup, an RTMP setup, or prerecorded videos and playlists. Reuse a configuration where it makes sense, but create a fresh YouTube event for each date in the series. Restream says prerecorded video events start automatically at their scheduled time. - In Restream, choose the stream setup or prerecorded video/playlist workflow that matches the source you inventoried.
- Create a new YouTube event for each recurring date rather than trying to reuse an event that has already gone live.
- Enter the title, description, date and time, thumbnail, privacy, and YouTube channel details for each event.
- Check the scheduled time zone against your original Gyre schedule before saving.
- For prerecorded content, confirm the selected video or playlist and the scheduled start time.
Events are available on all Restream plans, although thumbnails for events on the free plan carry Restream branding. Check your current account’s entitlements before switching. Restream’s event guide covers the event workflow. Gyre’s October 2026 update lists its scheduler on the free trial, Start+, and PRO+ plans, but not Start; plan names and availability can change, so confirm your account’s current access. Gyre’s October 2026 update provides that plan detail.
4. Verify the new workflow before retiring Gyre
- Correct YouTube channel and event selected for each date
- Event title, description, thumbnail, privacy, and schedule match your intended setup
- Time and time zone are correct
- The correct video, playlist, or encoder input is selected
- YouTube auto-start and auto-stop behavior matches how you plan to start and end the stream
Test the new configuration without prematurely starting a one-time YouTube event. Restream cautions against going live to the event before its scheduled time. Keep the old workflow available until you have confirmed the new schedule and destination settings.

Common migration problems
The old Gyre schedule does not appear in Restream
That is expected: a Gyre recurring schedule is not documented as something Restream imports. Use your inventory to recreate the dates and event details in Restream.
The existing YouTube event is missing from Restream’s selector
Confirm that the intended YouTube channel is connected and that you opened the correct stream or event’s channel settings. If the event still is not selectable, Custom RTMP is an alternative when your plan supports it; copy the event’s stream URL and key from YouTube Live Control Room.

The stream does not start at the scheduled time
For a prerecorded video event, verify the selected video or playlist and scheduled time. For a Custom RTMP destination, check YouTube auto-start and auto-stop settings; with those disabled, manual action in YouTube may be required.
Restream Chat or Analytics is unavailable
Those features may depend on the YouTube API integration and are not available for Custom RTMP channels. Use the native channel integration if you need those API-dependent features and can select the existing event there.

You cannot schedule repeated dates using the same event
Create a new YouTube event for each occurrence. A YouTube event can only be gone live to once, even if you reuse the stream configuration.
