Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo watch a youth-sports video from the GameChanger app on a television, mirror an iPhone or iPad with AirPlay, mirror an Android device with Cast or a similar feature, open GameChanger at web.gc.com in a browser, or connect a compatible device to the TV with HDMI. HDMI is a dependable fallback when wireless mirroring is unavailable or unstable. This guide covers the GameChanger sports app—not the Dropout series, the 2025 film, or The Game Changers documentary.
Find the game’s video
GameChanger is a youth-sports scoring and live-video platform. Its viewer instructions, updated February 10, 2026, describe several ways to open a stream: GameChanger’s guide to viewing a live video stream.
- Tap the team’s notification when it announces a live stream.
- Open the team schedule, choose the game marked with a camera icon, then open the Video tab.
- Check the Home tab for a stream listed among your followed teams.
- Open the team page and select its Video tab to find an active stream.
Watching is different from starting a stream: starting one is a team or staff function, while a viewer opens a stream that is already available to them.
Mirror an iPhone or iPad with AirPlay
Use this method with an Apple TV or an AirPlay-compatible television. The device and TV need to be on the same Wi-Fi network for discovery.

- Connect the iPhone or iPad and TV to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open GameChanger and enter the game’s video stream.
- Open Control Center. On most newer devices, swipe down from the upper-right corner; on older devices with a Home button, swipe up from the bottom.
- Tap Screen Mirroring or the AirPlay control, then select the TV or Apple TV.
- If the TV displays an AirPlay code, enter it on the device. Return to GameChanger and play the stream.
Control Center gestures and menu names can vary by iOS or iPadOS version. GameChanger describes AirPlay as an iOS route in its TV streaming guide.
Mirror an Android phone or tablet
Android menu names depend on the device manufacturer and software version. GameChanger lists Cast, Smart View, and similar screen-mirroring controls as options; they are not one universal GameChanger cast button.

- Connect the Android device and the TV or Chromecast to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the stream in GameChanger.
- Open Quick Settings and tap the relevant control. It may be called Cast, Smart View, Screen Cast, Wireless Display, or Screen Mirroring.
- Select the TV or casting device and approve the connection if prompted.
- Return to GameChanger and start or resume playback.
Use a TV browser or a laptop
Try the TV’s browser
- Open the web browser on the television and go to web.gc.com.
- Sign in if needed, then open the team, game, or shared stream link.
- Start playback.
This route avoids phone mirroring, but a television browser may be slow, awkward to navigate, or unable to play the stream. GameChanger lists web.gc.com as a browser option.
Use a computer connected to the TV
If the TV browser does not work, open GameChanger in a laptop browser and connect the laptop to the television, wirelessly or with HDMI. On a Mac, open System Settings → Displays → Mirror Display. On Windows, press Windows + P and choose Duplicate or Second Screen Only.

Connect a phone, tablet, or computer with HDMI
A wired connection avoids wireless device discovery and is a useful fallback. You need an HDMI cable, a free HDMI input on the TV, and—if the device has no HDMI port—a compatible video adapter. GameChanger’s guide names Lightning Digital AV adapters, USB-C AV adapters, and USB-C-to-HDMI hubs as examples.
- Check that the device supports video output through its port. Not every USB-C phone does.
- Connect the video adapter to the phone or tablet, if needed, then connect the HDMI cable to the adapter and TV.
- Use the TV remote to select the HDMI input where the cable is connected.
- Open GameChanger on the connected device and play the stream. Keep the device connected and, for a phone or tablet, plugged into power for a long game.
Adapter compatibility varies by device model. Confirm video-output support and adapter compatibility with the device maker before buying. HDMI is one of the connection options in GameChanger’s TV guide.

Choose the method that fits your setup
| Method | Best for | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| AirPlay | iPhone or iPad with Apple TV or an AirPlay-compatible TV | Wireless and convenient; requires compatible equipment and network discovery. |
| Android mirroring | Android device with Chromecast or a Cast-enabled TV | Wireless; menu labels and available protocols vary by device. |
| TV browser | A TV with a usable web browser | No phone-to-TV connection, but playback and sign-in can be awkward or unsupported. |
| Laptop browser | Viewers who can connect a computer to the TV | Provides another way to access the stream; HDMI avoids wireless mirroring problems. |
| Direct HDMI | Unreliable Wi-Fi or a TV without compatible mirroring | Typically the most dependable connection, but an adapter may be needed and the device must support video output. |
Mirroring usually reproduces the device’s screen rather than sending playback to a dedicated TV app. Roku distinguishes this from app casting: casting requires explicit app support, while mirroring displays the device screen and keeps it active. See Roku’s explanation of casting and screen mirroring.
If the stream is missing or unavailable
- The game may not be streaming yet. Check the team’s schedule or Video tab again once the stream starts.
- Confirm the team and event. Make sure you have opened the right team and game; a video may not be attached to every event.
- Check access permissions. Team staff can restrict who may watch, for example to players, family, or staff. Ask the team’s staff to confirm your access if you believe you should be able to view it.
- Check account and subscription access. Requirements vary by sport and team settings; baseball and softball can have different subscription requirements from other sports. Do not assume every stream or archived game is free.
- For past games, check the team’s Video tab. GameChanger says archived streams may require a Premium subscription, with access also affected by the viewer’s relationship to the team and its settings.
- Refresh access if needed. Update the app, sign in again, and reopen the event if the stream should be available but does not appear.
Troubleshoot failed mirroring, black screens, or buffering
The TV does not appear in AirPlay or Cast
- Confirm the phone and TV or streaming device are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Check that the TV’s AirPlay or mirroring feature is enabled. Guest networks or network isolation can prevent devices from finding each other.
- Restart the phone and TV or casting device, then try again.
- Update the GameChanger app and device software.
- If the TV still does not appear, try a laptop connection or HDMI.
The stream plays on the phone but not on the TV
The TV may support one type of casting but not the mirroring protocol your device is using. A TV browser may also lack the playback support the stream requires, and an HDMI adapter may be incompatible or may not pass video from that device. Try opening the stream at web.gc.com on a laptop and connecting the laptop to the TV; if wireless playback remains unreliable, test a compatible HDMI connection.

Playback stutters or buffers
Live video depends on the connection at both ends: the person streaming at the field and the viewer at home. A faster home connection cannot fix a weak connection at the venue, as GameChanger’s viewing guidance notes. Pause other high-bandwidth activity, move the device closer to the router, and stop and restart mirroring. If the wireless link is the problem, try HDMI.
The phone screen turns off
With screen mirroring, the phone or tablet generally needs to stay active; Roku notes this distinction in its casting and mirroring guidance. Connect the device to power and temporarily increase its auto-lock time. For a long game, a laptop or HDMI setup may be more practical. Use a dedicated cast control only if your particular device and playback setup offer one; do not assume the GameChanger app always provides it.
Can you install GameChanger directly on Roku or Apple TV?
GameChanger’s documented TV-watching methods are AirPlay, Android screen mirroring, web-browser viewing, and HDMI. Those instructions do not establish that a native GameChanger app is available on Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, or every other TV platform. Check the app store for your specific device if you want to verify current availability; otherwise, use one of the documented connection methods above.
