To send a Zoom meeting to destinations connected to Streamlabs Talk Studio, enable Zoom custom live streaming, copy the current Stream Forwarding URL and stream key from your Talk Studio account, select your destinations in Talk Studio, then start the custom livestream from Zoom. You need an eligible Zoom account and host, and the forwarding credentials must come from your own account.

Before you start

  • Check Zoom eligibility. Zoom’s current requirements list Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise accounts; a licensed Zoom Workplace Meetings host; custom live streaming enabled by an account administrator; and the Zoom desktop app for Windows or macOS. Check Zoom’s current live-streaming instructions for the applicable minimum app version, since it can change. Enable HD Video if you want higher video quality.
  • Get access to Talk Studio Stream Forwarding. You will need its current RTMPS forwarding URL, stream key, and live-streaming page URL. Retrieve these from your Talk Studio account; do not reuse credentials from a tutorial or share your stream key.
  • Confirm your destinations. Talk Studio forwards to destinations linked to the account, but Streamlabs says LinkedIn and Twitter are not supported by Stream Forwarding. Check the current destination list in your account before scheduling.
  • Check upload capacity. Streamlabs’ Getting Started guide, last updated October 1, 2025, gives 5 Mbps upload as a minimum overall. Its guidance calls for 5 Mbps required and 10 Mbps recommended for 720p, and 10 Mbps required and 20 Mbps recommended for 1080p. These are vendor recommendations, not guarantees; use a stable connection, preferably Ethernet.

Set up Zoom to send the meeting to Talk Studio

1. Enable custom live streaming in Zoom

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal with an account administrator, then confirm that custom live streaming is enabled for the account. If you cannot change the setting, ask your administrator.
  2. Schedule or edit the meeting that you intend to stream. Open its Live Streaming settings and choose the option to configure a custom live-streaming service. Zoom’s exact labels can change, so follow the current controls in its official setup guide.
  3. Enter the Talk Studio Stream Forwarding URL, stream key, and live-streaming page URL in the corresponding Zoom fields, then save. Zoom requires the live-streaming URL to be public so it can stream to the server.

2. Choose the Talk Studio destinations

  1. Open Stream Forwarding in Talk Studio.
  2. Select the linked destination or destinations that should receive the Zoom broadcast, then save the selection.

Do this before starting the custom stream from Zoom. Streamlabs describes Stream Forwarding as a way to send a Zoom broadcast to social destinations already linked to Talk Studio. Its Zoom walkthrough was last updated September 20, 2023; use your account for current URLs and controls.

3. Start the livestream from the Zoom meeting

  1. Start the meeting as its eligible host in the Zoom desktop app.
  2. Open the meeting’s More or livestream controls and choose the custom live-streaming option. The precise label may vary with Zoom’s interface.
  3. Wait for Zoom to prepare the stream and confirm that the host controls show it is live. To finish, stop the custom live stream from Zoom.

Troubleshooting

  • The custom live-streaming option is missing: Confirm that the account administrator enabled custom live streaming, that the host and account meet Zoom’s eligibility requirements, and that you are using the Zoom desktop app.
  • Zoom cannot connect to Talk Studio: Reopen Stream Forwarding in Talk Studio and check that the URL and stream key are current and copied accurately. Also confirm that the page URL and server URL are in their intended Zoom fields.
  • The broadcast starts, but a destination does not receive it: Check that the destination is linked and selected on Talk Studio’s Stream Forwarding page. LinkedIn and Twitter are not supported by this forwarding feature.
  • Video quality is poor or the stream is unstable: Check upload speed against Streamlabs’ resolution guidance, enable Zoom HD Video for higher quality, and prefer a stable wired connection where available. A connection meeting the listed speeds is not a guarantee against local congestion or interruptions.
  • You are trying to use Talk Studio’s browser studio: Allow the browser camera and microphone permissions for that workflow. They are not a substitute for Zoom’s custom-streaming setup when Zoom is the source of the broadcast.

How this differs from going live inside Talk Studio

With Zoom custom live streaming, Zoom is where the meeting is hosted and its broadcast is started; Talk Studio’s forwarding page selects the linked destinations. Going live directly in Talk Studio is a separate workflow. Streamlabs also documents adding a custom RTMP destination in Talk Studio by entering that destination’s RTMP URL and stream key, selecting it, and going live; see its custom RTMP instructions. That setup is not the same as sending a Zoom meeting through Stream Forwarding.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your goal is to keep uploaded videos playing as a 24/7 YouTube livestream—not to broadcast a live Zoom meeting—StreamNeo is a separate option. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot. It automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and UPI works in India. Monthly: $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos to YouTube; it does not broadcast a camera or a Zoom meeting. Start the free day with StreamNeo.
