You can stream Tamil Carnatic music from MP3 files around the clock by sending them through a live encoder that pairs the audio with a visual, such as a still image, then feeds the resulting video stream to YouTube. Before starting, confirm your channel is eligible and that you have streaming rights for both the recordings and compositions. For a stream that continues while your own computer is off, StreamNeo can loop uploaded videos from the cloud to YouTube.
Before you set up the stream
Confirm YouTube live access
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restrictions during the previous 90 days. You must also meet YouTube’s minimum age requirement for live streaming, which is 16. Enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours, so enable it and confirm access before planning a launch. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and getting-started guidance.
Clear rights to the exact music
An MP3 file is a format, not evidence of permission to broadcast. You need the rights required for the specific sound recording and the underlying composition, in the territories where the stream will be available and for the intended live use. Owning a file, being able to listen to it, finding it online, or using a devotional or public-domain composition does not by itself establish that you can stream that particular recording.
YouTube’s livestream terms make the content provider responsible for necessary rights, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. Check the licensing chain for each recording and composition and keep written permissions or license records. If you cannot establish that the intended use is covered, do not include the track.

Set up a software encoder for MP3 playback
YouTube’s standard encoder workflow sends a video stream, not a standalone MP3 radio feed. Your encoder therefore needs to combine the music with a visual feed. A still image can serve as the visual element if your encoder supports it; YouTube’s guidance does not prescribe a particular playlist or looping application. Confirm that the software you choose can play your files continuously, provide a video output, and send that output to YouTube.
- Prepare the audio and visual. Select only recordings you are authorized to stream. Arrange them in a playlist or playback sequence in software that can feed the encoder. Add a suitable visual, such as a still image, so the encoder produces video as well as audio. Test playback through the full chain before going live.
- Create a live stream in YouTube Studio. Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule a live stream using the encoder workflow. In the stream settings, obtain the stream URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, show it on screen, or send it to anyone who does not need access.
- Enter the YouTube destination in your encoder. Paste the stream URL and key into the encoder’s YouTube or custom RTMP/RTMPS destination fields. Prefer RTMPS where available; YouTube describes it as RTMP protected by TLS/SSL.
- Set compatible output values. YouTube’s published encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265 or AV1 for video, constant bitrate (CBR) video encoding, and AAC or MP3 audio. For stereo audio it recommends a 44.1 kHz sample rate and 128 Kbps audio bitrate. These are YouTube’s encoder recommendations, not a requirement to re-encode every source MP3 to identical settings. Consult the current YouTube encoder settings for the full configuration and supported values.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Start sending the stream from your encoder, then check the Live Control Room preview and stream health before starting the public broadcast. Listen for audio, confirm the visual is present, and make sure the stream is stable. YouTube recommends testing with representative content and monitoring stream health; a short successful test does not guarantee uninterrupted operation for a full day.
- Keep the playback and sending system running. In a local software setup, the computer, encoder, playback sequence, network connection and power all have to keep working for the stream to continue. Plan how you will monitor and recover the setup if any part stops.
Protect the live stream from copyright interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can cause a warning, a placeholder image, interruption or termination if the matched material remains in the stream. A license does not necessarily prevent an automated live interruption: YouTube says a rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist for licensed material to avoid that issue. Contact the relevant rights owner before broadcasting and ask about allowlisting where applicable. Read YouTube’s guidance on live-stream copyright.

Allowlisting is not a substitute for permission. You remain responsible for rights to the actual recording and composition, and a successful test or initial broadcast does not establish that every later track is cleared.
Plan for stream duration and archives
YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish that a single stream lasting longer than 12 hours—or a continuous 24-hour broadcast—will be preserved as one complete archive. If archive continuity matters, check the current behavior in YouTube Live Control Room and plan around the documented under-12-hour threshold rather than assuming a 24-hour recording will be available.

2. Run a software encoder on your own system
A local encoder avoids a cloud-service subscription, but the computer, playback software, power and network connection must remain available. YouTube’s guidance explains encoder setup and output recommendations, but does not designate a particular playlist tool, computer specification or home-network arrangement as best for 24/7 playback. Test the exact software and connection you intend to use and have a way to notice and restart a failed stream.
3. Consider dedicated hardware only if its scheduling features fit
YouTube lists the AJA HELO Plus as a verified hardware encoder and describes its optional PlayToStream feature as allowing prerecorded media to be scheduled and sent directly to YouTube Live without a computer. This is an official feature description, not an independent assessment or confirmation of current retail availability. For a simple audio stream with a static visual, dedicated hardware may be more than you need; compare its current setup requirements and cost with a software encoder before buying. See YouTube’s encoder information for its listed hardware options.

- Live streaming is unavailable: verify the channel, check for live-stream restrictions within the previous 90 days, and allow up to 24 hours after first enabling the feature.
- YouTube receives no signal: check that the encoder is running, the stream URL and key were entered correctly, and the selected RTMP/RTMPS destination matches the encoder configuration. If you suspect the key was exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- The stream is live but silent: verify that the playlist is playing, the correct audio output is selected, and the encoder is receiving audio. Test the complete playback-to-encoder chain before going public.
- The preview is blank or frozen: confirm that the encoder is sending a video feed as well as audio and that the still image or other visual remains active. Check YouTube’s preview and stream-health indicators.
- The broadcast is interrupted after a music match: stop or replace the matched track. Review the rights for that recording and composition; if you have authorization, contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption.
- The local stream stops unexpectedly: check the computer, playback software, encoder, power and network connection, then restart the encoder and verify the YouTube preview. A local setup depends on those components continuing to run.
- A complete 24-hour archive is missing: YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours, not a guaranteed single archive of a longer broadcast. Check Live Control Room behavior and do not rely on one over-12-hour stream for archive continuity.
Or let it run in the cloud
Upload a video made from your MP3 and visual, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded quality streams as made up to 4K 60fps for one price per slot; StreamNeo can recover automatically if YouTube drops the stream; and the first day is free with no card.
