Other options identified by YouTube
YouTube describes Gyre as a cloud-based option for continuous prerecorded-video streams. It also lists AWS Elemental MediaLive among verified encoders; that is a broadcast-oriented encoder option, not evidence of a ready-made looping workflow. YouTube lists CamStreamer for continuous streaming too, but it is an in-camera software approach rather than a generic cloud virtual machine.

For a custom pipeline, compare who manages playback, encoding, restart behavior, monitoring, and failover. A dedicated continuous-stream service may mean less infrastructure assembly; a general cloud setup offers configurable infrastructure but leaves the operator to build and maintain the workflow. The cited provider listings do not establish an apples-to-apples comparison, tested configuration, guaranteed uptime, or current total cost.
Select an India location carefully
Documented cloud regions are starting points, not proof that every streaming product, machine type, or feature is available in each location. AWS lists Mumbai (ap-south-1) and Hyderabad (ap-south-2); its region table marks Hyderabad as opt-in and Mumbai as not requiring opt-in. See AWS region information. Google Cloud lists Compute Engine zones in Mumbai (asia-south1) and Delhi (asia-south2), and a Mumbai location for its Live Stream API. Check Google Cloud’s locations and the specific service’s availability before choosing.
Choose based on the exact managed service or compute product you plan to use, its availability, and your operational needs. Region presence alone does not establish which location will be best for your audience or channel.

Set up the YouTube connection
- Enable and verify live streaming. In YouTube Studio, complete channel verification and enable live streaming. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- Create or schedule the live stream. Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create a stream. For a scheduled broadcast, configure the event there before connecting the encoder.
- Copy the connection details. In the Live Control Room, copy YouTube’s server URL and stream key into the corresponding fields in your cloud service or encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, share it with viewers, or place it in public logs. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the service using it.
- Configure the content and output. Select the uploaded video or playlist for a continuous prerecorded stream, then apply compatible output settings. For a custom AWS or virtual-machine deployment, consult the provider’s current service-specific instructions; the available sources do not establish a complete MediaLive or generic VM deployment recipe.
- Start the encoder and check YouTube. Start the cloud stream, then check the Live Control Room preview and stream health. Confirm the video and audio are present and that the stream is visible on the channel and watch page.
Use YouTube-compatible stream settings
YouTube recommends RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval; it says the keyframe interval should not exceed four seconds. Its stream-format error guidance specifies H.264 video and AAC audio. See YouTube’s encoder settings and troubleshooting guidance.

Choose resolution and bitrate to suit the quality you intend to deliver and the capacity of the encoder and network path. Do not select a high bitrate simply because the cloud machine can encode at it: the complete path to YouTube must sustain the output. If you use a service that sends uploaded files without re-encoding, follow that service’s workflow rather than assuming you can separately override the video’s encoding settings.
Test reliability, bandwidth, and monitoring
Allow time for a real test
YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before a scheduled event and starting it at least 15 minutes before. Check the Live Control Room preview, stream health, and audio and video. For a 24/7 channel, do a test run before treating the setup as production-ready; the lead times are YouTube’s event guidance, not a promise that testing will reveal every failure mode.

Plan bandwidth and failover
YouTube recommends upload capacity for the primary bitrate plus the backup bitrate, with 20% additional headroom. Its guidance states: “The total bitrate you’re streaming cannot exceed the amount of upload bandwidth available.” Apply the recommendation to the actual stream and backup path, and test failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its network. Keep watch after launch
Monitor stream health and verify the live output is visible. YouTube recommends continuous monitoring of audio and video during a stream. A cloud location or service does not by itself guarantee that a stream will never fail, so decide in advance who will respond to faults and how you will restart or fail over.
Keep the stream compliant and worth watching
A live stream is still subject to YouTube’s channel and content policies. Use material you own or are authorized to broadcast, including music, documentary footage, photographs, and archival clips; a public live stream can be interrupted or removed following a rights issue. Check the current YouTube Community Guidelines and copyright guidance before scheduling a long loop.

For documentary channels, continuous availability is not a substitute for meaningful programming. Make the stream’s content and schedule clear, avoid presenting a loop as a live event when it is prerecorded, and ensure the channel adds original value rather than simply repeating material without context. YouTube makes monetization decisions under its current channel monetization policies; streaming continuously does not guarantee eligibility or approval.
