To connect an Extra Life fundraiser to a livestream, open your Extra Life page and go to Your Page → Settings. Choose your streaming platform, enter the account detail it requests, and save. Extra Life says the linked stream will then appear on your fundraising page. For YouTube, enter the full URL of the live video—not your channel username.
Before you start: create or open your Extra Life page
You need an Extra Life participant or team fundraising page before viewers can donate. The page provides the donation destination and a Donate action. If you are participating as part of a team, supporters can choose the individual member they want to support; that donation also contributes to the team’s shared goal.
Link your livestream to your Extra Life page
- Log in to Extra Life and open Your Page.
- Open Settings.
- Select the streaming platform you use.
- Enter the platform identifier requested. For YouTube, enter the full URL for the live video, not your channel username.
- Save your changes. Extra Life says the linked livestream then appears on your fundraising page.
The linked stream on the fundraiser page and an on-stream graphic are separate things: this setting connects the stream to the page; it does not add a donation graphic to your broadcast.
Optional: add a Twitch fundraising panel or thermometer
Extra Life’s Support Center article, modified January 8, 2021, describes using Twitch’s DonorDrive Charity Fundraising extension. Its documented setup is to install the extension from Twitch’s Extensions area, configure it with the charity and fundraising-page URL, save, and activate it as a panel. The article also describes copying the “Overlay with fundraising thermometer” link from the extension’s overlay settings.

The same article says the previous Extra Life Twitch extension is no longer available. Because these instructions date from 2021, check Twitch’s current Extensions area and Creator Dashboard labels before relying on the named extension or expecting those exact controls to be present.
Make the donation link easy to find
Direct viewers to your participant page and its Donate button. Put the correct Extra Life page link somewhere viewers can find it, such as your stream description or channel panel. If you use a chat command, confirm that it points to the right participant page. For a team fundraiser, explain that viewers can choose the member they wish to support and that their donation counts toward the shared team goal.
