To accept credit-card tips for yourself, connect a supported payment provider in Streamlabs and share your Streamlabs tip-page link. For money meant for a charity, use a platform charity fundraiser instead: a creator tip that you later pass on is not the same as a charitable donation.
First choose who should receive the payment
A credit-card payment labeled “donate” can mean two different things. With a creator tip, the money goes to you through your payment provider. With a charitable donation, it should go through a charity fundraising feature to the organization. Twitch says money viewers give a streamer through donations, subscriptions, Bits, or similar tools does not become a charitable donation or tax-deductible gift just because the streamer later gives it to charity. Twitch explains the distinction.
- For creator income or tips: set up a creator tip page, such as Streamlabs tipping.
- For a fundraiser: use a native charity feature or a charity campaign that directs funds to the organization.
Set up credit-card tips with Streamlabs
- Create or sign in to Streamlabs. Open the Streamlabs dashboard for your account.
- Open the payment methods. Go to Settings > Donation Settings > Methods, choose a payment provider available to your account, and follow its connection steps. Streamlabs’ credit-card tipping guidance says a PayPal Business account must be connected in tip settings for the credit-card option on a Streamlabs tip page.
- Find your tip-page URL. After connecting the provider, locate the account’s tip-page link in the dashboard. Streamlabs describes sharing it in visible channel areas such as a Twitch panel, channel description, or other channel surfaces. See its quick guide to setting up tipping.
- Review page settings. Set minimum or suggested amounts, currency, and page details if those controls are available for your account.
- Verify before promoting it. Open the page as a viewer and check that it displays the intended payment options, currency, and recipient. Do not assume that a provider connection alone confirms what viewers in every country will see.
Streamlabs’ May 2026 quick guide recommends a PayPal Business account to help keep a creator’s real name and personal information hidden from viewers. That is not a guarantee of anonymity: check PayPal’s current account, profile, and receipt settings before accepting payments.
Check card availability and fees
Streamlabs’ Stripe Tipping FAQs list the following countries as supported for its credit-card tip option: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The FAQ says creators outside the supported list need another payment option, such as PayPal. Availability can change, so the payment methods shown in your own account are the practical check.

The same FAQ states a standard card-processing fee of 2.9% + US$0.30, while noting that actual fees vary with the countries of the streamer and donor. Treat that as Streamlabs’ stated standard, not a universal or guaranteed current rate; review the terms shown for your account and payment provider. Streamlabs says its tipping service charges payment-processing fees rather than taking a cut, but that is the vendor’s description of its service, not a substitute for checking processor charges.
Use a charity fundraiser when the charity is the recipient
Twitch Charity
Twitch’s Charity tool is designed to let viewers donate to a charity by card or PayPal. During a fundraiser, Twitch can show a Donate to Charity button. Twitch says it does not take a cut of donations through the tool. Start the campaign through Twitch’s charity features and confirm current availability and eligibility in the Twitch charity help page.

Streamlabs Charity
Streamlabs’ charity setup guidance describes creating a charity account, selecting a registered charity, creating a campaign with a title, description, date, and goal, publishing it, and sharing its campaign tip page. It also describes linking the campaign to a Streamlabs account for charity alerts. Streamlabs says its goal is to send 100% of each donation to the charity; that is the platform’s stated goal, not an independent audit finding. The same vendor article reports more than $70 million raised through its charity platform, without establishing a year for that figure. YouTube Giving
YouTube Giving can display a Donate button in live chat for eligible campaigns. YouTube’s cited FAQ says the nonprofit must be a US-registered 501(c)(3) public charity and that YouTube covers credit-card transaction fees for Live Chat Donations. Eligibility rules can limit which channels and charities can use the feature, so confirm the full current requirements and instructions in YouTube Giving FAQs before announcing a fundraiser.

Choose the payment route that matches your stream

These routes do not establish that every viewer can pay by card without creating or using an account. Payment options depend on the selected service, its current rules, and the viewer’s location. Tell viewers what the payment supports and whether it is a creator tip or a charity donation.
