To show charity donations as alerts in a live stream, first connect your published fundraiser to an alert provider, then add that provider’s alert or goal widget to OBS Studio if needed. OBS does not process donations itself: the fundraiser or alert service must generate the donation event. Test the alert and scene layout before the event.
Choose the fundraiser and alert route
Start with the service that hosts your campaign and records the donations you want to announce. Then check whether it connects to your alert box and whether you need a donation alert, a running goal display, or both. OBS is where you compose the broadcast; it is not the donation processor. The OBS Project’s donation FAQ explains that donation functionality comes from an external provider.
- Streamlabs Charity: Streamlabs documents charity donation events for its alert settings and a separate donation-goal widget for OBS. See its charity alert setup and goal widget setup.
- Tiltify: Tiltify documents its own fundraiser overlays and alerts. It also documents an integration with Streamlabs. Availability and controls can vary, so confirm the options in your account and test the campaign you will use.
Publish or activate the fundraiser before connecting it to alerts. Streamlabs’ charity stream guide covers creating and publishing a campaign.
Set up Streamlabs Charity alerts in OBS
- Create and publish the campaign. Set up the fundraiser and its details, including a goal if you want one, then publish it.
- Connect the campaign to Streamlabs. In your Streamlabs account, open integrations. On the Streamlabs Charity row, choose Manage Campaigns, select the published campaign, and save.
- Customize the donation alert. Open Stream Alert Settings, expand Global Event Types, and select Streamlabs Charity Donation. Adjust its visual and audio presentation for your broadcast. Streamlabs describes this workflow in its charity alert instructions.
- Optionally configure a goal widget. In the Streamlabs dashboard, set up the Streamlabs Charity Donation Goal widget and save it. Copy its widget URL, but do not display that URL on stream or expose it in a visible scene element.
- Add the goal widget to OBS. In the scene where the goal should appear, add a Browser source, paste the widget URL into its URL field, then position and size the source. Streamlabs provides this procedure in its goal widget guide.
- Preview the scene and alert. Use the alert preview and inspect the widget in the actual OBS scene. Check that text is readable, the widget does not cover important content, and audio levels suit the event. Streamlabs’ alert setup documentation describes previewing alerts. A preview confirms appearance, not necessarily that every campaign or account will behave identically; test your own setup before going live.
Use Tiltify overlays or connect Tiltify to Streamlabs
Tiltify documents customizable fundraiser overlays and donation alerts. Depending on the widget and account, its documented controls include colors, fonts, positions, animations, thresholds, alignment, and GIFs. Consult Tiltify’s guides for overlays and alerts and advanced overlay widgets for the controls available to your campaign.

For a Tiltify campaign routed through Streamlabs, authorize Streamlabs from your Tiltify account, then customize donation alerts under Alert Box > Tiltify Donations. Follow Streamlabs’ Tiltify integration tutorial. Confirm the current account controls and run a test in the same setup you will use for the fundraiser; documented options do not guarantee identical availability across campaigns, platforms, or locations.
Check the broadcast before the fundraiser
- Confirm the campaign is published and the intended campaign is selected in the alert integration.
- Preview the alert and review both its visual treatment and sound.
- Check the goal widget’s position, size, readability, and interaction with other scene elements.
- Keep widget URLs private; do not show them on screen.
- Run a test in your actual account and streaming setup. Documentation explains how to configure and preview widgets, but does not guarantee every account-level integration or event will behave the same way.
