To run a radio-style YouTube livestream on JioFiber, connect a computer running encoder software to your Jio Home Gateway, copy the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio, set a modest video bitrate, and confirm the computer’s actual upload speed can sustain the full stream. For a static graphic, YouTube’s current H.264 recommendation for 720p at 30 fps is 3 Mbps, plus 128 Kbps for stereo AAC audio. A JioFiber plan’s advertised speed is not a substitute for testing the connection you will actually use.
Before you start: confirm your channel and broadcast materials
Check that the channel can go live
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Its current guidance also sets a minimum age of 16 to livestream. Check access in YouTube Studio before configuring an encoder: YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements.
Choose the audio and visual
Decide what the broadcast will carry: for example, a presenter’s microphone, live instruments, or audio routed through the computer, paired with a show graphic or other visual. A microphone is optional if the program does not include a live presenter. YouTube says expensive equipment is not required to get started; use equipment and encoder software that can provide the audio and video you intend to broadcast. Only use recordings, music, images, and other material you have permission to broadcast. YouTube’s guidance flags rights to both audio and video as an issue, but whether a particular recording is cleared depends on your rights and circumstances. A radio format does not exempt a stream from copyright rules.

Set up the encoder and YouTube stream

In YouTube Studio, select Create, then Go Live. Open the Stream tab in Live Control Room, then create or select the stream.

Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast. YouTube’s walkthrough is at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

Open your encoder’s streaming settings. Choose its YouTube option if available; otherwise paste the URL into the server field and the key into the stream-key field. Check that each value is in the correct field.

Set the video and audio parameters. For a low-motion radio graphic, 720p at 30 fps is a practical starting point. YouTube’s current H.264 recommendations are:

Format YouTube-recommended video bitrate Other settings 720p, 30 fps 3 Mbps H.264, CBR; 2-second keyframe interval; stereo AAC audio at 128 Kbps 1080p, 30 fps 10 Mbps H.264, CBR; 2-second keyframe interval; stereo AAC audio at 128 Kbps YouTube recommends a 2-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed 4 seconds. These are platform recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular computer or connection will perform well. Check YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for its current guidance.

Save or apply the encoder settings, but do not start the public broadcast until you have checked the upload path and preview.
Measure the JioFiber upload you will actually stream over
Run an upload speed test from the same computer and connection you plan to broadcast with. If practical, use Ethernet to connect the computer to the Jio Home Gateway for the test and the stream; this can reduce dependence on local Wi-Fi conditions, but Ethernet is not stated as a JioFiber service requirement.
Jio’s regional plan page describes symmetric upload and download speeds and lists advertised tiers including 30, 100, 150, and 300 Mbps. Those are plan examples, not a measurement of your address, your current connection, or the speed available to the encoder at broadcast time. Plan availability and performance can vary by area. Check the regional details at Jio’s broadband plan page for Payal, then test locally.

YouTube warns that upload speed may be lower than download speed, recommends testing with content similar to the intended stream, and advises keeping about 20% upload headroom. The total bitrate must fit within available upload bandwidth. A 3 Mbps video stream plus 128 Kbps audio already exceeds 3 Mbps before protocol overhead, so do not set the encoder bitrate equal to a speed-test result. Choose between 720p and 1080p
For a static or slow-moving radio visual, 720p30 is usually the more modest starting point: its YouTube-recommended video bitrate is 3 Mbps, compared with 10 Mbps for 1080p30. The higher-resolution option can show more visual detail but requires more upload capacity and leaves less bandwidth for other household users. Choose based on the measured connection and a realistic rehearsal, not the plan’s advertised download figure.
Rehearse, preview, and start the broadcast

Start the encoder and wait for the incoming feed to appear in Live Control Room.

Listen to the preview carefully. Confirm that the selected input is present, continuous, and not distorted; inspect the graphic or other visual as well.

Check stream health before selecting Go live. If you want to verify the setup without a public broadcast, rehearse with a private or unlisted stream where available in your YouTube settings.

During the broadcast, keep monitoring audio and stream health. At the end, end the event in YouTube and stop the encoder. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived; see its encoder setup guidance.
Troubleshoot common setup problems
The encoder will not connect
Confirm that the stream URL and key belong to the stream currently selected in Live Control Room, and that they are in the encoder’s matching server and key fields. If you exposed the key, reset it in YouTube’s stream settings; Manage live stream settings explains the available controls.
Stream health is poor or frames are dropping
Measure upload again from the streaming computer, lower the encoder bitrate, and leave headroom rather than aiming at the speed-test maximum. YouTube’s rule is that the total stream bitrate cannot exceed available upload bandwidth. If other people or devices are using the connection, test under conditions similar to the planned broadcast.

Audio is silent or distorted
Check that the encoder is listening to the intended input and that the input is active. Test with the actual program audio before going live, then listen to the Live Control Room preview. A correct video feed does not confirm that the audio path is working.
Should you reduce latency?
For a radio or music broadcast without real-time audience interaction, normal latency may be sufficient. YouTube notes that lower latency can increase buffering risk; choose a lower-latency setting only when interaction needs justify the trade-off. See YouTube’s live stream settings guidance.
