First, confirm you have the rights to every recording for both the live broadcast and any archived copy. YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours, but that does not establish a way to keep one stream running indefinitely. For an always-on stream without a computer running at home, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud option: upload your recordings, add the stream key, and go live.
Before you build the playlist: clear the rights
Use recordings you are authorized to broadcast live and, if an archive is created, to retain as a recording. A devotional subject does not by itself make a recording free to use: check the rights for the specific performance, arrangement, recording, territory, and intended use. YouTube’s Terms of Service make the provider responsible for obtaining the necessary rights, including music rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other participants.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects content that remains in the stream, it may replace the image, interrupt the broadcast, or terminate it. If you have licensed third-party content, YouTube advises asking the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license alone may not prevent an interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Check whether your channel can go live
- Your channel must be verified and must not have a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
- If this is your first live stream, enable live streaming in advance. YouTube says activation can take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube’s general live-stream guidance requires users to be at least 16 to live stream.
Review the current YouTube live-streaming requirements before scheduling; access and interface details can change.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Prepare the playlist and presentation
Choose recordings and order
Make a playlist of the specific rights-cleared Marathi devotional recordings you intend to broadcast. Decide the order before going live, and play it through once to catch missing files, abrupt transitions, silence, or an unintended repeat. Keep a copy of the playlist order and source files available so you can restore the intended sequence if the encoder or playback application stops.
Choose what viewers will see
A devotional stream can be audio-led, with a still image or simple visual, or it can use a more elaborate visual presentation. Make sure any artwork, lyrics, photos, and video used in the visual are also cleared for the relevant use. Check that the image is appropriate throughout the playlist and that it does not imply a live performance if the stream is prerecorded.

Create the YouTube stream and connect an encoder
- Open YouTube Studio. Choose Create, then Go Live. In the Live Control Room, use the Stream tab to create a stream or schedule one. Scheduling gives you a watch page to share in advance. Set the title, description, visibility, and other metadata accurately.
- Copy the connection details. In the Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions explain where to find them.
- Configure your encoder. Use software on a computer or a standalone hardware encoder that can play your playlist and send a stream to YouTube. Enter the server URL and stream key in the encoder’s connection settings. Use RTMPS if the encoder supports it.
- Set audio and video. YouTube documents H.264, H.265, and AV1 video codecs, and AAC or MP3 audio for RTMP/RTMPS. Select a codec your encoder supports and test it in the actual workflow. For an audio-led playlist, do not add video complexity unless it serves the presentation.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview. Before making the stream public, verify that the Live Control Room receives the feed and that the selected visibility setting behaves as intended.
Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it, send it to viewers, or expose it in screenshots. If it is compromised, reset it in the Live Control Room and update the encoder with the replacement. YouTube’s stream settings guidance covers managing stream settings and keys.
Test playback, stream health, and upload capacity
Run a private or unlisted test before promoting an all-day broadcast. Test with audio and movement similar to the actual playlist, and check both the Live Control Room and a viewer’s watch page.

- Confirm tracks play in the planned order and the audio is audible, consistent, and free of unintended gaps.
- Check that the visual remains appropriate and the stream preview appears in the Live Control Room.
- Confirm viewers can access the stream from the channel and watch page, including on a phone.
- Watch YouTube’s stream-health indicators and correct any warnings before relying on the setup.
- Measure upload speed rather than download speed. YouTube recommends about 20% upload headroom above the combined stream bitrate; other people or devices using the network can reduce what is available to the encoder.
Choose bitrate and quality based on the encoder’s capabilities and the upload capacity that remains available during the test. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance covers bitrate and other settings; it does not make a single bitrate suitable for every playlist, resolution, network, and encoder. Its live-streaming tips also recommend testing before the broadcast.
Plan for the stream’s duration and any handoff
YouTube’s encoder instructions state: “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That describes archiving for streams under 12 hours; it is not a promise that one stream can run forever, nor does it establish a universally supported way to restart a prerecorded playlist seamlessly. Check the current Live Control Room behavior and your encoder’s documentation before designing an unattended 24/7 schedule. Monitor the stream and have a recovery plan rather than assuming any setup is failproof.

If you need to end one stream and direct viewers to a Premiere or another live stream, YouTube Live Redirect may help if the channels meet its eligibility and permission requirements. The sending creator must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes, and the destination channel must allow the redirect. See YouTube’s Live Redirect guidance.

YouTube supports software encoders running on a computer and standalone hardware encoders. The suitable choice depends on whether it can play and encode the chosen playlist reliably, the network available to it, how you will monitor failures, and the purchase and operating costs. YouTube’s guidance does not specify a required computer model or minimum system specification for this use case. A dedicated computer is an option, not a requirement for every creator.

For a do-it-yourself computer setup, the computer, playback software, encoder, and network must remain available for the planned run. A home power or connection interruption can stop that setup; test recovery and decide who will notice and respond to a failure. Hardware encoders change the device running the workflow, but do not remove the need to verify playlist playback, network capacity, rights, and monitoring.
Or let it run in the cloud
