To keep a prerecorded bhajan livestream running on YouTube without leaving a computer on at home, use a cloud-hosted streaming service: upload or schedule the devotional videos, connect the service to your YouTube channel, then test the stream in YouTube Studio before sharing it. First make sure your channel is eligible to livestream and that you have permission to broadcast every recording and visual.
1. Make sure your YouTube channel can livestream
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time livestream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned launch. YouTube’s livestream eligibility guidance explains the requirements.
- Sign in to the channel that will host the bhajan stream and verify it if needed.
- Check that the channel has no recent livestream restriction.
- Allow time for first-time activation rather than scheduling a public launch immediately.
2. Clear the bhajan recordings and visuals
A devotional subject or traditional bhajan title does not automatically give you the right to stream a particular recording. Check permissions separately for the composition, arrangement, performance, sound recording, and any images or video included in the stream. Use material you own or are authorized to broadcast and replay. YouTube livestreams must follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service; the rights status of a specific bhajan recording cannot be inferred from its subject or age.
Keep records of licenses or written permissions, including the platforms, territories, and duration they cover. If you cannot confirm that a track or visual is cleared for continuous livestreaming, leave it out.

3. Choose a host that runs in the cloud
A cloud host sends prerecorded files to YouTube from its own infrastructure, so your home computer and internet connection do not need to remain on. In YouTube’s encoder directory, Gyre is listed for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos; that directory is a vendor listing, not an independent reliability test. For a bhajan channel, compare how each provider handles looping and playlists, scheduling, continuous-run limits, monitoring, recovery, stream-key security, and current plan terms.

YouTube also lists browser-based cloud studio Upstream, AWS Elemental MediaLive for broadcast-grade processing, and the AJA HELO Plus standalone hardware encoder with prerecorded-media scheduling. These may suit other technical or hardware needs, but the listings do not establish them as the simplest or cheapest choice for an individual devotional channel. YouTube lists OBS as free, open-source software; running OBS on a home PC would not meet the goal of leaving that PC off.

4. Prepare the playlist and stream details
Organize the cleared bhajans into the playback order you want, and decide whether to use a single recording, a loop, or a playlist. Make the stream title and description accurately identify the devotional content and its source; do not imply that a prerecorded loop is a live performance. Check the host’s supported file formats and size limits in its current instructions before uploading.
- Use clear file names and keep a local copy of source media and permission records.
- Decide whether the playlist should repeat continuously or follow a schedule.
- Check for silence, abrupt cuts, incorrect aspect ratio, or unintended gaps before adding files.
- Plan a separate archive if viewers need a complete recording of the broadcast.
5. Create and connect the YouTube livestream
- In YouTube Studio, open Go Live and create a stream or select the stream you intend to use.
- For an encoder-based connection, copy the YouTube server URL and stream key into the cloud host’s connection settings. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who does not need access.
- In the cloud host, connect or authorize the YouTube channel as directed, add your cleared bhajan files, and set the stream title, description, playlist, and schedule.
- Start a private or unlisted test if available. Check the YouTube Live Control Room preview and stream health, and confirm that audio and visuals play as expected.
- Only announce or schedule the public stream after the test succeeds. Keep an eye on provider alerts and YouTube stream status after launch; no directory listing establishes a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
6. Plan for archives and special broadcasts
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not promise a complete archive for an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast. If a full video-on-demand recording matters, arrange separate recordings or shorter scheduled events and confirm your chosen host supports the schedule you need.

For an advanced use case, Google’s Live Streaming API documentation describes keeping a 24/7 feed live while creating a separate broadcast for an event such as an interview. Both broadcasts can use the same stream resource. This API approach is not necessary for a basic bhajan loop, and it requires a more technical setup. 7. Troubleshoot common setup problems
