To check borrowing and return status instead, look in your Amazon account’s Kindle content or Kindle Unlimited title-management area. These are separate views, and Amazon’s published information does not guarantee either is a complete, permanent record of every title you have opened.
Check Reading Insights in the Kindle app
- Open the Kindle app and make sure you are signed in to the Amazon account you used for Kindle Unlimited.
- Tap More in the bottom navigation.
- Tap Reading Insights.
- Review the reading-history information and any title listings shown.
Amazon describes Reading Insights as a feature with reading-history statistics, and an Amazon Staff reply says Kindle Unlimited readers can use it to see titles they previously read. In a reply dated March 31, 2022, Amazon Staff member Nick wrote: “Yes, you can see this information when you select "More" at the bottom of the screen and go to Reading Insights.” The app guide does not specify a minimum app version or confirm that every account sees identical screens, so labels or availability may differ.
Check borrowed and returned titles on Amazon’s website
- Sign in to the Amazon account associated with your Kindle Unlimited membership.
- Open Manage Your Content and Devices or the Kindle Unlimited title-management view in your account.
- Look for a Kindle Unlimited content filter or a view for borrowed and returned titles, if available.
Amazon’s Kindle Content Help directs account holders to Manage Your Content and Devices for Kindle content management. The more specific instructions about viewing current and returned Kindle Unlimited titles come from an Amazon community forum reply, rather than a current official step-by-step guide. Treat this website route as another place to check; its labels and layout can vary by marketplace and change over time.

The first route is about reading insights; the second is about content and borrowing status. The cited information does not establish that either view is a complete, permanent, or exportable log of every book you ever opened.

If a book is missing
- Check that the app or website is signed in to the same Amazon account that borrowed the title.
- Look in both Reading Insights and the account’s Kindle Unlimited content view; the two areas serve different purposes.
- If the website labels differ, start from Amazon Kindle Content Help to reach the current account-management resources.
A missing title in either view does not, by itself, prove that it was never borrowed or read. Amazon’s cited guidance does not specify how complete or long-retained these records are.

Amazon says Kindle Unlimited can be used on a smartphone, computer, or tablet through the free Kindle app, as well as on a Kindle device. The app route is therefore available without owning an e-reader.
